The SCPTS works alongside Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) colleagues and the Complex Emotional and Relational Needs (CERN) team in Bury.

The context of the role:


Community Mental Health Services are going through a process of transformation and there is real opportunity for you to support and be part of delivering the ambitions of 'The Community Mental Health Framework', particularly focusing upon the 'Psychological Therapies for Severe Mental Health Problems' (PT-SMHP) NHS-E paper.

There are five Secondary Care Psychology Services across the Pennine Care footprint, and you will work closely with and be supported by the Secondary Care Psychology pathway lead (Consultant Clinical Psychologist) and your peers across these teams.
The direction of travel is to embed collaborative and relational processes to support, empower and develop your leadership skills and those of your peers in your work as clinical leads and managers.



As a Principal Clinical Psychologist/ Principal Counselling Psychologist, you will be responsible for the provision of specialist expertise with complex and/or challenging cases within the secondary care adult Psychological Therapies Service. You will work with the clinical lead for the adult mental health secondary care pathway and the borough leadership group to ensure robust and effective care for service users who present with complex and/or severe mental health needs.

You will contribute to the development of effective psychological care with the multidisciplinary team. A key component of your role will be to provide consultation, support, and where appropriate, clinical & managerial supervision to other psychological therapy staff.
You will be part of supporting with the Community Transformation programme, embedding new psychological practitioner roles and meeting the ambitions of the 'Psychological Therapies for Severe Mental Health Problems 'PT-SMHP' NHS-E paper.

The roles and responsibilities of this post are in evolution in the context of the nationally-driven changes, and you will have the opportunity to be an important part of a collaborative process of defining and structuring your roles and relationships, with the support of the Secondary Care Psychological Therapies Clinical Lead and your peers in similar roles.

About the role:

Team Leader: Keeping Families Together

We are looking to recruit a passionate and committed team leader to join our newly established ‘Keeping Families Together’ team within Bury Children's Social Care and Family Help service. Keeping Families Together is a new initiative which focusses on providing short term (between 6 and 12 weeks) intensive support to children, young people and families who are identified as experiencing multiple and complex issues. This is an exciting time to join our new service as we look for a passionate individual who will strive to deliver positive outcomes that make a real difference to our children, young people and families.

As team leader you will have direct responsibility for managing members of the keeping families together team, providing them with high support and high challenge ensuring quality intervention is provided to the right families at the right time resulting in positive impact leading to sustainable improved outcomes.

The team will support families where there are children / young people who are identified as;

• likely to require accommodating / looking after by the local authority unless intensive support is provided.

• Or, living with connected carers, and the arrangement is fragile and would result in a child having to be cared for by the local authority without intensive support.

• Or, requiring intensive support during a plan of reunification

• Or, being in acute distress and there is a risk of family breakdown without immediate support.

The team will work with children and young people between the ages of 8 and 18, along with their families providing time limited periods of intervention. They will use a variety of approaches to assist in rebuilding relationships and supporting children and young people to remain safely in the care of their family and promoting long-term sustainable change. The practice model is trauma informed and building relationships with, and within families will be central to the delivery and success of the keeping families together team. The team will engage with the family’s wider support networks to build resilience and strength within the family unit and support them to develop their own plans detailing how problems and difficulties can be managed without the need for professional intervention.

The core team will be required to work flexibly, and work around the family to address the areas of need identified, developing and delivering bespoke intervention work that will be delivered in a planned way. Members of the team will work their core hours (37 hours) flexibly between 7am and 8pm Monday to Friday depending on a family’s needs. Staff will also be expected to work a Saturday between the hours of 9am and 5pm on a rota basis, however, would have a day off during the week to compensate, and receive an enhanced weekend payment.

The service is borough wide but will be based at 3 Knowsley Place / Elizabethan Suite in Bury.

Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Dependent on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis.

• Provide high level operation support to develop and maintain the organisation’s resources, including staff, administration and finance.
• Spearhead the successful launch within Australian market and developing and implementing growth strategies.
• Improve and develop financial efficiencies, control costs and maximize productivity through the implementation of effective methods and standard processes/tools. Manage working capital in accounts receivable and inventory.
• Provide financial reports and to Senior executives
• Responsible for working in partnership with key stakeholders to build brand awareness, roll out marketing strategies, build competitive cost proposals to secure customer base.
• Attract top talent to build the Australian team in country in line with job roles and responsibilities
• Develop and lead the Team, ensure adequate upskilling, training and development is rolled out to support our new team and set our team up for success
• Successfully build, coach and develop team members in line with culture and values.
• Manage functions including sales, customer success, and development, to ensure a best in class customer experience including creating formal procedures aligned with business strategy and planning
• Identifies areas of opportunity within the Australian market, building client base and securing market share.
• Developing implementation timelines, managing towards project milestones, addressing client concerns, meeting and exceeding client expectations through the go-live of a project, and managing relationships on an on-going basis to ensure retention.

Education – Bachelor degree or higher qualification desirable. Industry experience may substitute.

Experience & Skills
• 5+ years of experience implementing solutions and/or managing the strategic overall operation of a business
• Strong client relationships with a strong understanding for what makes a product a success for clients.
• Solid track record of working is a very fast paced environment
• Solid experience managing cross-functional teams with a strong ability to interact with business clients and internal teams simultaneously to bridge gaps and manage communications.
• Proficiency at managing and prioritizing multiple priorities simultaneously coupled with the ability to anticipate/resolve implementation bottlenecks/issues before they happen.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present information in verbal, written or visual form to a variety of audiences, from the internal team to client executives.
• The ability to quickly establish trust and credibility with clients coupled with strong communication and client relationship management skills, with the ability to manage high profile client stakeholders;
• Experience in an agile development, startup software, or new product environment
• Experience in SaaS product platform
• Experience in building operational procedures, brand awareness, and building teams for success in new markets.

Salary: $100,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
