Key Responsibilities

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Executive, Accounts to join our finance team at our oil palm company based overseas (Papua New Guinea). The ideal candidate is expected to have a strong background in accounting principles, financial reporting, and data analysis.

Job Description

• Responsible for the assigned financial and management accounting functions of the assigned entities. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly accounts, financial statements, reports, supporting schedules and all regulatory reports.
• Monitor daily cash flow position, fund transfer and short-term placements and utilise BA/RC of the Company’s cash flows in order to maximize return yields and minimize finance costs. Liaise with bankers/financiers on all treasury matters. Handling and verifying desktop fund transfers and ensuring that there are sufficient funds to meet the daily operational requirements.
• Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Perform reconciliations of accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing insights and analysis on variances.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data for reporting and decision-making.
• Maintain and update accounting records, including journal entries and general ledger postings.
• Assist in the preparation of audit documentation and support external auditors during audits and tax matters including SST, corporate tax.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, as needed.

JOB SUMMARY

A Senior Accountant is a mid-level professional who oversees the company’s accounting department. They take ownership for every aspect that goes into producing an organization's report, from cost-productivity and margins all the way down to expenditures.

JOB DUTIES

• Perform accounts reconciliation and advice on journal entries for ledger posting. Prepare journal voucher, data entry as well as to prepare draft accounts for monthly closing.
• Reconciled general ledger accounts, which included a detailed analysis of expenditures for proper account coding and accuracy.
• Prepare and review monthly accounts, cash position and compile management reports in a timely manner. Detect inconsistency of Account Receivables & Payable account between system records and daily records day to day.
• To monitor & solve the outstanding balance sheet items e.g. : Accruals, Miscellaneous receivable item in balance sheet. Compiled and analysed financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts and prepare monthly account reconciliation.
• Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements on a daily basis in an effort to provide timely information to management.
• To response to our buyer questions pertaining to statement of account during weekend/rest day/on leave when necessary and reply as soon as possible.
