The Role
We are looking to recruit to the role of Senior Asset Management Officer, where you will be part of a small team that undertakes a diverse range of capital project development, management and delivery across the department’s various assets, but mainly schools.
Working closely with colleagues from within the local authority and external partners alike, the team is responsible for ensuring that the Council provides appropriate support to schools to ensure that their buildings and estate are effectively managed and that the Council is able to satisfactorily ensure that it fulfils its statutory obligation of ensuring that there are sufficient school places for all those that need them.
About You
The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate proven experience of working on major capital projects, as well as experience of working positively and creatively with other partner bodies and organisations to deliver successful outcomes.
You will have the knowledge and ability to undertake basic financial management, as well as a practical understanding of relevant and current statutory guidance and regulations in respect of school organisation, building and design matters. You will also need to be competent in using traditional office software, including excel and word.
You will have the ability to undertake and adapt to a diverse range of project subjects in so far as they relate to the delivery of services for the Children’s Services
