As a Senior Level Patent Attorney, you'll work together with the Deputy Commissioner for Patents-Legal on policy formulation and translation of policy decisions into revised guidelines, practices and procedures, and training materials for all professionals and technical support staff in organizations under the Commissioner for Patents.

The individual selected for this position will…

• Exercise a thorough knowledge of patent laws and patent regulations, examination guidelines, and rules of practice and examining procedures; know the views and goals of the Deputy Commissioner and utilize an understanding of the total functions of all USPTO offices.
• Review problem cases, special requests for administrative relief, existing MPEP provisions, etc., and identify issues on which there is a need for a statement of approved examining practice and/or procedure.
• Handle inquiries from the public requesting assistance in properly interpreting existing and proposed practices. Address suggestions from the public on revisions to practices. Represent the Deputy Commissioner in dealings with attorneys, industry representatives, and patent law associations in various matters, especially those concerning practice and procedure.
• Develop and review training materials and lectures for internal use, such as at the Patent Training Academy, and to external stakeholders including patent law groups and other members of the public on matters relating to recent developments in patent practice and other topics under the jurisdiction of the Deputy Commissioner.
• Review decisions on petitions relating to matters before the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, and decisions of the USPTO Patent Trial and Appeal Board, which require treatment of unusual issues involving patent examination and/or patent examination procedures.
• Assist the Commissioner for Patents and the Deputy Commissioner for Patents-Legal in performing managerial tasks.

Associate Experience is a group within the Intelligent Store Tech (IST) org within Walmart. This hands-on role requires exceptional coding skills, a passion for technology and engineering excellence, and the ability to guide and mentor multiple teams of engineers. You will play a pivotal role in defining and maintaining our technical architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability requirements. 

About Team:

The Associate Experience group focuses on building products that enable our Associates to serve Customers during the Checkout process. We use open-source tech to build software that stands on top of a foundational Platform architecture which is being built from the ground up. Your team will leverage React JS, React Native, Java, Spring, Kubernetes, NoSQL, Kafka and other such tools/frameworks.

What you’ll do:

• Assists in providing guidance to small groups of engineers, for assigned Engineering projects by proving pertinent documents, directions, examples, and timeline. 
• Provides support to the business by responding to user questions, concerns, and issues (for example, technical feasibility, implementation strategies); researching and identifying needed solutions; determining implementation designs; providing guidance regarding implications of new and enhanced systems; identifying short- and long-term solutions; and directing users to appropriate contacts for issues outside of associate's domain.

What you'll do:

Your main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
• Assemble large, complex data sets
• Analyze large volumes of data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies indicative of fraudulent behavior.  Derive data-driven insights to improve anomaly detection strategies.
• Build infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and ‘big data’ technologies
• Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques
• Design, develop and deploy custom data models and algorithms to surface anomalous behaviors
• Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy

What you'll bring:

• Have a passion for data with exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
• Well versed with Spark, Hadoop, Cloud, Python/Scala and Java, Streaming, Kafka.
• Proven track record of at least one programming language and one Database language
• Proficient in one of cloud computing platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure)
• Experienced in data modeling & data migration protocols
• Experience with data warehousing (e.g. Databricks)
• Experience with machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques, with a focus on their use for anomaly detection

• Excellent communications skills both written and verbal.
• Web application and cyber security domain knowledge is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate as a full-life cycle recruiter responsible for defining job requirements in partnership with the hiring manager, cultivate and source relevant candidates, close and negotiate offers, and manage end to end recruiting process.
• Build proactive product talent pipelines to continuously provide top talent to the business.
• Leverage personal network to generate candidate leads and referrals for proactive candidate outreach and pipeline building.
