Act as a supplementary or independent prescriber within agreed protocols, and prescribe all required immunosuppression medication for transplant patients for delivery by the homecare service. Demonstrate a high level of expert knowledge in the field of nephrology, dialysis and transplantation. Communication of complex pharmaceutical information, according to the level of understanding, direct to patients/carers and healthcare professionals. Make evidence-based decisions, in partnership with patients and other professionals within the specialist area. Development and review of Patient Group Directions Development and review of Shared Care guidelines. Develop and implementation of relevant local and national guidelines within the renal speciality. Identify, initiate and evaluate Drug Usage Reviews and audits and implement changes in prescribing practice accordingly. Develop relevant patient information leaflets which complement licensed product information Provide support on concordance related issues to patients Provide clinical screening and dispensing support to the renal technicians for the accurate and timely dispensing of renal prescriptions. Provide expert medicines information to clinicians and healthcare professionals and ensure that this information is utilised in a systematic and appropriate way to optimise patient care. To liaise and work with other specialist pharmacists to share the best practice, to strengthen patient focused pharmaceutical care. 2. RESPONSIBILITY FOR PATIENTS To assist in identifying and managing changes necessary to maintain a high-quality service responsive to patients needs and to consider the implications of changes for other areas/personnel. To assist in the planning and organising of a clinical pharmacy service to renal patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. To deal effectively with situations where medication errors have occurred, including liaising directly with patients and staff concerned. Assist in responding to complaints from patients and the public in relation to medicines management issues as required. Ensure that all renal patients are counselled on all aspects of their medication in order to maximise their understanding of their treatment. To deliver a high quality and comprehensive medicines counselling service to patients and/or their relatives on all aspects of their pharmaceutical care including specialist and unlicensed drugs. To overcome communication barriers through the use of interpreters or other forms of communication. 3. RESPONSIBILITY FOR POLICY AND SERVICE DEVELOPMENT To assist the Lead Pharmacist, Renal Services in the production and implementation of business plans for the development of the pharmacy service provided to the renal and urology units. To assist in the formulation, prioritisation and implementation of long-term strategic plans for clinical pharmacy services in line with local, network and national objectives Contribute to the development of and ensure adherence to evidence based prescribing guidelines Ensuring compliance with CQC medicines related outcomes, NICE appraisals and other government related initiatives To ensure that all pharmacy activities, procedures and documentation within the speciality are carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures and relevant medicines legislation To assist in the Implementation of the Trusts Clinical Governance agenda within Renal Medicine To identify the risks of medicines use in the directorate and implement strategies to minimise them, working closely with the specialities clinical risk management committee To participate in the audit of clinical incidents and the changes in practice resulting from this To assist in the auditing of services provided with the aim of improving the services provided by the renal pharmacy team 4. RESPONSIBILITY FOR FINANCIAL AND PHYSICAL RESOURCES Provision of detailed evaluated reports on drug expenditure to the Divisional Finance Manager, General Manager, and Clinical Head of Service Identify options for reducing drug expenditure. Forecasting new drug developments, and identify changes in prescribing practice that may impact on the drugs budget. Contributing to the annual pharmacy department drug cost pressure document Interpreting published data on new drugs for use within nephrology, dialysis, transplantation and urology, and to prepare evaluations and present applications to the Drugs, Therapeutics Committee. To communicate relevant decisions back to the specialty care group. Liaising with the key decision makers (senior managers, CCGs, commissioners) to ensure provision of funding for high-cost drugs i.e. Immunosuppression and treatment of renal anaemia and CKD-MBD within the Directorate. 5. RESPONSIBILITY FOR LEADING AND MANAGING To share expertise with healthcare professionals on a nationwide level through professional conferences, forum and bodies. To motivate and inspire others in order to create and maintain a good working environment and facilitate staff retention To plan and organise the provision of the clinical pharmacy service to the renal wards and units, including the day-to-day allocation of the workload To support and facilitate the development of junior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians To deputise for the Lead Pharmacist, Renal Services in his/her absence To support the Lead Pharmacist, Renal Services in the recruitment of staff To manage difficult and ambiguous situations and be aware of ethical dilemmas that may present in patient care and provide support and guidance to colleagues in any decision-making process. To undertake and co-ordinate clinical research and audit projects and publish or present these findings. To supervise and advise other members of the pharmacy team research projects. To develop a personal research portfolio. To implement findings of research into clinical practice. 8. EDUCATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES To act as a resource for renal pharmacy issues across the trust and community where appropriate. To contribute to the education and training of junior doctors in the safe and effective use of medicines in patients with renal impairment. To develop, implement and maintain a renal drugs knowledge and competency learning package for nurses working on the renal unit. To participate in the development of clinical based pharmacy training programmes To contribute to the departmental appraisal and development programme for junior pharmacists and technicians. This post would be suitable for trainees with a strong interest in cardiothoracic surgery who would like to apply for a numbered training post in the future. Short summary

The Quantitative Stem Cell Biology lab, headed by Dr Silvia Santos, is seeking a Senior Laboratory Research Scientist (SLRS). The successful candidate will investigate spatio-temporal control of cell division and cell cycle remodelling during cellular differentiation using 2D and 3D stem cell-based models of human gastrulation. The postholder will drive a research project and contribute to collaborative projects within the lab. The postholder will benefit from excellent mentorship and training.

The research group
The Quantitative Stem Cell Biology lab, headed by Dr Silvia Santos, was established in 2018 at the Francis Crick Institute. The lab’s primary focus is understanding cell decision-making. Current areas of research include understanding regulatory mechanism regulating cell fate specification, cell cycle remodeling during cellular differentiation and the interplay between metabolism, cell cycle and cell fate. There is a strong focus on single cell analysis and advanced live cell imaging. The lab uses a variety of model systems: mouse and human embryonic stem cells (ESC), 3D organoid models of mouse and human development and mouse embryos.
The team is multi-disciplinary, diverse and currently composed of three PhD students, two post-doctoral fellow and one principal laboratory research scientist. The Santos lab promotes independent and creative thinking and all members are committed to providing excellent training and mentorship.

This fellow job has come up as part of the NICU expansion in which we have opened 45 cots to provide all levels of neonatal care at the Royal London Hospital. We are a tertiary centre and take referrals from all over the North East London region.

The posts will be for a period of 12 months with further extension depending upon the clinical performance

Training will be provided as appropriate for the individual in accordance with the syllabus for trainees in neonatal medicine following discussion with their educational supervisor. In general training opportunities occur in the context of:

Consultant led ward rounds twice daily
Registrar led ward rounds in second half of post dependent on experience
Practical supervision
Concise topic teaching two mornings per week
Dedicated X-ray meeting
A weekly academic ward round and case presentation/seminar

*Senior QS required for Tier One contractor on £150m office cut & carve refurb / fit-out in Central London*

I have an urgent requiremnt for one of my blue chip Tier One main contractor clients on a new project - the c.£150m structural / cut & carve refurbishment of a commercial office building in Central London.

The role is for a Senior QS to lead the change management process, due to extensive tenant variations coming through from the client.

Working across multiple trade packages, primarily internals, the client is looking for the right person to come in and take ownership and drive the change process, get to grips with the scops, solve problems and price and agree variations up and downstream.

You'll ideally come from a main contractor background, preferably having large / major project experience, including on structural / cut & carve refurb projects (desirable though not essential) and strong experience on change / package management / variations. Commercial office project experience would also be an advantage.

The role is immediately available on a freelance / temp-to-perm / perm basis and will pay £425 - £525 depending on experience.

The Senior Clinical Perfusion Scientist plays a critical role in the cardiovascular surgical team, responsible for operating and managing cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) machines and other extracorporeal circulation devices. This position involves ensuring optimal oxygenation and circulation during surgeries that require heart and lung support, typically during open-heart surgeries. The Senior Perfusionist also leads and trains junior staff, contributes to research and development, and ensures compliance with clinical guidelines.

As an experienced and autonomous practitioner to lead by example and act as a role model to provide clinical and professional perfusion services to the multi disciplinary team. The post holder will participate fully in the development of the team, organising facilities and staff to enable the clinical group to meet its contractual and professional targets.

In addition the Senior Clinical Perfusion Scientist will be responsible for contributing to the provision of perfusion services to St Georges Healthcare. The post holder will also be assisting in the development of the department and the education and training of the perfusion team as well as ensuring continued professional development

The People Team is responsible for the development and implementation of the People Strategy providing the organisation with structure and the ability to meet its objectives through the effective management of its people. As a Senior HR Advisor, you will act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance on employee relations, talent management, analytics and performance management. You will lead and manage the HR Information System (Dynamics), reporting HR analytics and trends. Strong collaboration with different departments will be vital to understanding and addressing the unique HR needs of each team. You will also support the Head of People in delivering projects as part of the HR team plan.

What you will do:

Take a business partnering approach, advising managers on all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including employee relations, wellbeing, performance management, pay and reward and employee engagement
Develop a good understanding of business operations and foster strong relationships with stakeholders to effectively deliver solutions that enhance business performance
Provide expert and proactive HR support to heads of service, line managers and colleagues ensuring a positive experience at every stage of employment
Provide guidance to colleagues in managing and resolving employee relations issues early on and seek team support for more complex cases
Coach managers to conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations
Oversee onboarding to ensure all new colleagues have a positive experience from the People Team
Maintain in-depth knowledge of the legal framework within which HR operates, working with legal partners as required and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Provide day-to-day performance management guidance or training to line management (e.g. coaching, counselling, career development, disciplinary actions)
Produce, analyse and effectively report HR data, identifying trends and making recommendations for improvement
Provide expert HR guidance and project management support on complex casework, restructures, workforce planning and succession planning
Collaborate with suppliers to modify and optimise HR systems, improving administrative efficiency and self-service.
Manage systems supplier contracts on a regular basis to ensure service provided is as set out in the contract
Ensure new colleagues have training and guidance in using HR systems
Develop and update HR policies to align with current legislation and staying informed about modern procedures and best practices.


Proactively identify opportunities to streamline HR processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the employee experience


Owning, consulting and delivering on a variety of HR projects and initiatives as part of the team plan.
Support the HR Administrator with monthly payroll actions as required

You will need to have:

CIPD Level 5 qualified with a minimum of 3 years generalist HR experience
Solid experience working in a Senior HR Advisor or HR Generalist capacity
Experience in all HR disciplines with a strong grasp of employment law working proactively towards effective resolutions
Experience of acting as a trusted adviser or business partner to stakeholders at all levels
Proven ability to effectively plan, prioritise tasks and make sound business decisions
Experience of managing HR systems and producing HR data reports
Ability to work on own initiative and comfortable with managing high volumes of transactional work
Excellent communication skills and highly proficient in Microsoft suite of products
