The school operates year-round, hosting several hospitality and events across evenings and weekends. However, we ensure a well-organized schedule within our growing team to help you maintain a positive work-life balance. We are seeking a highly skilled Weekend Senior Sous Chef. The ideal candidate will be capable of running and controlling the kitchen over the weekend, with all necessary tools provided. The role involves 8-hour shifts, either early or late, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm or 11:30 am to 8:00 pm. A lunch break and lunch are provided.

What you’ll do…

• Bring delicious menu options to our students by overseeing the running of the different sections where necessary.
• Nurture and develop the talent of the kitchen team, creating an environment that brings out the best in them and where they can be themselves.
• Make sure things are running without hitch, orders and deliveries are coming and going as needed, our service is smooth as chipotle butter, and our food hygiene standards are sky-high.
• Work with our Executive Head Chef on ideas and techniques that make our kitchen a creative, ever-changing environment where we’re always looking to make the best food out there.
• In the absence of the Executive Head Chef, you will act in their place to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
• Pay attention to the details to ensure every meal served is as delicious as the one before!

What we’re looking for…

• Previous experience as a Senior Sous or Sous Chef in a busy, bustling environment with freshness and provenance of ingredients as a key priority. Ideally Education or contract-catering environments, however this is preferred not essential.
• Proven track record managing large kitchen teams.
• A true passion for creativity whilst maintaining the integrity of our brand standards through the dishes on the menu.
• A natural at leading and managing others, you lead by example and create an environment where your team can be their best self.

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Senior Sous Chef to join our team ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************

• Support the Head Chef in all aspects of the kitchen, deputising in their absence.
• Food Preparation – prepare and cook dishes according to the recipes and standards set by the head chef; ensuring food safety standards are adhered to at all time.
• Station Management – oversee the production of all dishes assigned to your station and upkeep your designated area with supplies and ensuring cleanliness in line with policies and procedures.
• Quality Control – maintain high quality standards for all dishes, ensuring presentation and taste is considered at all times.
• Team Collaboration – communicate positively and effectively with all other team members and assist/support all colleagues where necessary. Coaching of junior chefs to support development.
• Menu Development – collaborate with head chef to develop and taste new recipes, providing suggestions for improvement or innovation.
• Cleaning and Maintenance – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen including your designated area ensuring equipment is in good working order.

• Proven experience working as a Commis Chef or similar role.
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
