The team are currently looking for experienced Court Officers to join this dynamic team. You will be responsible for effectively managing the major processes involved in the collection of the various Portfolios of Debt owed to the Council.

Whilst working in the Debt Management Team, you will be taking your selected cases through the Court Processes by attending and presenting the cases at County Court and attending Magistrates Court Hearings for both Liability Order

Hearings and Committal Means Enquiry Hearings.

The ideal candidate will have:

The job role

An excellent opportunity has come up at our Imerys Aluminates site at West Thurrock, which produces fused and sintered calcium illuminate binders - valued for their high heat resistance to corrosion, abrasion and heat. You will be responsible for managing, maintaining and improving electrical and automation equipment and systems for Imerys Aluminates industrial/ production site.

The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Site Electrical Duty Holder
• Managing and execute electrical, automation and instrumentation work (including inspection, auditing, calibration, spare parts, drawings, risk assessments and reactive & preventive maintenance)
• Operation, managing and maintaining Siemens automation systems (PLCs/ PCS7/ SCADA/ WinCC/ S7-300/ HMIs) including fault finding, programming and updating.
• Manage ECI compliance and statutory activities (Fixed wire testing, HV maintenance, Earthing test, PAT, Arc flash testing, etc.)
• Work on and manage high voltage (HV) network and drives.

Our Senior Practitioners are skilled in their role, they support their Team members and Team Managers with the work of the team. in return our Senior Practitioners are supported with appropriate caseloads and are also offered development opportunities to become leads in their teams in specialist areas of work, both within the service and within Adopt East.
You will need to be 3 years post qualified and have statutory childcare experience. Adoption experience is essential. You will need to have good writing, communication, organisation skills and be able to support less experienced members of the team with adoption work.
We welcome applications from experienced Adoption Social Workers looking to step up to a senior role or from experienced Adoption Senior Practitioners looking to work within a team which completes all areas of adoption work, where you will be supporting less experienced members of the team.
You must be Social Work qualified, be registered with Social Work England and be able to work in the UK. Please note at this time we are unable to support applicants that will need sponsorship.
This team covers -
- the recruitment and assessment of prospective adopters (this includes delivering information events and preparing to adopt training)
- family finding for children with a plan for adoption, including holding CLA cases once the child has been placed with prospective adopters
- family finding for prospective adopters and supporting them once a child is placed
- supporting birth parents with understanding adoption and what this means for them and their child
- undertaking assessment of need for post adoption and SGO cases
- identifying/commissioning appropriate post order support services
- supporting adopted adults to access their birth records
- non-agency and stepparent adoption assessments and reports to court
- developing partnership working with other LA's and adoption agencies within Adopt East

The service covers the full breath of Trading Standards work from dealing with rogue traders to product safety, as well as food standards and metrology. The successful candidate will therefore need to have experience across a variety of work streams. Whilst experience in food standards and metrology is desirable, it is not essential, although you should hold the Trading Standards Practitioner Diploma (TSPD) or equivalent (DCATS, DTS, DCA).

You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to manage a diverse workload. You should be able to work in a team as well as lead when necessary. You will have a proven track record of successful enforcement activity and will be comfortable mentoring junior staff.

An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Adult Safeguarding Team. We are looking for a social worker with 2 years post qualifying experience in Adults Social Care to work in this highly skilled team as a Senior Practitioner and Best Interests Assessor (or willing to undertake this training). You will be working with Adults who have been referred to the team due to concerns about safeguarding. You will be expected to cover safeguarding duty; complete initial information gathering and signpost when concerns are received; complete s42 safeguarding enquiries; participate in safeguarding strategy meetings; and complete Best Interests Assessments under DOLS. You will work closely with colleagues in other departments and wider agencies in order to safeguard vulnerable adults.

You will become part of a very stable, award-winning team, where we provide the opportunity for you to grow and develop and join a very innovative and supportive service. The team is busy, but every case is different, and you will be able to draw on a wealth of knowledge and experience from your safeguarding team members, as well as our wider teams. We have adopted the Community Led Support Approach and all our teams work as one big team, in a person-centred way, with the focus being on building on the strengths of the person and the community around them.
