The role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll provide electrical engineering and design services for a portfolio of projects across multiple geographical locations. Acting as the Subject Matter Expert, the Senior Electrical Engineer, is responsible as the authorising electrician for the Intelligence and Security business unit.
Day to day, you'll work on a range of engineering problems involving high levels of complexity & uncertainty. Providing help and direction to less experienced team members to support both their effective working, and their development.
- Lead as the electrical authority, representing the Intelligence and Security (I&S) BU for all approvals, sign offs and briefings relating to the skillset.
- Sign off delivery of engineering work packages to agreed budget, timescales, requirements and quality objectives.
- Ensuring that the appropriate engineering documentation is produced, reviewed and signed off in accordance with Babcock and industry standards
- Elicit project requirements from the customer or FM provider and ensure that the requirements are accurately documented and include agreed acceptance criteria prior to creating any project estimates.
- Provide electrical engineering support to PMs as required as well as competency assessment for the installation team to ensure compliance.
- Ensure that all assigned projects comply with the change control requirements of the Business Unit.
- Completion of CE approval activities including documentation as well as management and control of specialist engineering subcontractors.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Senior Electrical Engineer
- Ability to report clearly on events both verbally and in written form, including good technical specification, feasibility and report writing skills, applicable to a broad audience at all levels of seniority, both internally and externally.
- To be able to communicate technically with external professionals on an equal standing, to give advice and to seek future opportunities.
- Knowledge of CE marking requirements/legislation.
Qualifications of the Senior Electrical Engineer
- Must hold a relevant engineering degree level, or alternatively HNC/HND qualification.
- Full current UK driving licence

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
