Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service are looking for a Senior Application Developer to enhance our forward-thinking development team, working within our Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) department. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £45,441 to £48,474 per annum (grade 8). About the role:

Following the Service’s investment in Microsoft 365 we are now looking to fully utilise its functionality to improve business effectiveness and efficiency and exploit the opportunities this platform provides. With this comes an exciting opportunity to be part of a team, leading and driving forwards digital transformation within the Fire Service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual, with a passion for innovation and creativity within digital development. You will have an up-to-date knowledge in a variety of development applications and will be forward thinking in terms of the best ways to use them.
This is a unique opportunity to take up a key role within a challenging and fast paced environment. You will be able to help others develop and opportunities for your own CPD are available.
Key responsibilities of the ICT Senior Application Developer role:
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work well with others.
- Good knowledge and experience working knowledge of modern development tools and technologies.
- Knowledge and understanding of agile methodologies to ensure applications are delivered successfully and on time.
- Desire to learn and inspire others through new techniques and technologies.
- Clear understanding of security and confidentiality of information in terms of application tools.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills and the ability to ensure deadlines are meet.
