The Individual

Experience of working with pre-school children aged between 3 and 5 years old.

• National Standards for Early Learning & Childcare.

Having achieved or working towards the following qualifications:

CACHE (NNEB) / SCCEB (SNNB), HNC Childhood Practice or equivalent

Or

SVQ Level 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) or equivalent

SSSC Registered (current registration or registration within 6 months of taking up post)

The main purpose of the Senior Occupational Therapy Assistant is to support the Occupational Therapy Team to provide a specialist service to people in the community who are experiencing physical disabilities, to enable them to live as independently a life as possible with optimal functional performance. Job Description

The Consultancy section provides a wide variety of services for the Council. These include the design and maintenance of bridges and structures, road design, flood risk management and work for other sections within the Council. In addition there are statutory duties to be carried out such as bridge inspections.

The team leader role involves providing technical expertise in delivering capital and revenue schemes for the Council, primarily relating to bridges and structures. The team also takes on projects in the field of building design, harbour maintenance and ground engineering.

The role includes building and leading a team that contributes to the Council’s responsibilities in relation to the maintanence of the bridgestock, as well as managing and delivering other projects from feasibility through to construction.

It is important that the successful candidate not only has excellent technical skills but must have excellent communication skills that will help facilitate good working relationships within the team and other sections within the Council.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To deliver an efficient Timber Frame design service that enables effective fabrication and construction of timber structural frames. To ensure that all working processes and practices are undertaken safely, efficiently and in accordance with the company's management systems and procedures.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The role is fully accountable for the delivery of a competent and efficient design service on various projects, in accordance with company standards, systems and procedures, ensuring effective performance for the business from the following areas.

* To be actively assist with the mentoring & support of the design department, by encouraging, checking for over seeing trainees as & when required.

To assist the Litigation and Social Care team in the provision of a high quality and efficient legal service to the Council, its members, officers and committees. The job is flexible and will be split between being desk based in the Council HQ and homeworking and may require out of office meetings and site visits.

The Litigation and Social Care team sits within the Council’s Legal Services Section The team deals with a diverse and complex range of work reflecting the variety of issues for which the Council has responsibility, ensuring that at all times the council operates in accordance with the law in an increasing complex statutory and regulatory environment The team is responsible for advising on a wide range of matters and more specifically on matters arising from Education, Social Work (covering a range of issues including those related to adults, children, Child Protection, Adoption and Fostering, Community Care and Adults with Incapacity), general litigation and debt recovery work. Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the provision of technical accounting advice to the Accountancy section (and section 95 officer), relating to the preparation of the annual accounts, support for the financial planning process and for major projects as agreed with the Principal Accountant.

Requirements

Technical financial overview of the Annual Report and Annual Accounts.
Advising the S95 Officer on overall financial forecasting for the Council.
Support the S95 Officer regarding the Asset Management Working Group.
Be the Finance lead on Participatory Budgeting.
Be the Finance lead for Moray Growth Deal.
Budgetary and other implications of changes in accounting standards and relevant legislation, LASAAC circulars and other guidance.
Ad-hoc project work for departments, including support for major projects, and advice and support to other members of the accountancy section involved in such work.
Organising cpd training and technical updates for the accountancy section.
Developing and maintaining budget manager training.

The Individual

Post-qualifying experience in a public sector finance department.
Fully qualified CCAB or CIMA Accountant.
Ability to interpret, apply and explain technical policies, procedures, guidance and legislation.
Strong written and oral communications skills and an ability to deal effectively with queries and provide advice.
Self-confident and self-motivated.
Computer literate with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Strong customer focus.
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van.
Committed and able to work under own initiative.
Ability to manage workload, address conflicting priorities, meet deadlines (statutory and internal) working to a high degree of accuracy.
Politically sensitive and astute.
Ability to write clear, concise and easily understandable reports for Senior Officers and Members.
