We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Medical Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team, within the York Teaching Hospitals Facilities Management LLP.
In this role, you will assist in the maintenance, calibration, and repair of a diverse range of medical devices, ensuring compliance with MHRA guidelines and ISO9001/2015 standards. You will support the senior technicians and engineers in routine inspections, troubleshoot equipment issues, and document all activities accurately.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to develop their skills in a supportive and professional environment.
Key responsibilities include planning, organising, and delivering routine maintenance and repair tasks, performing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on non-complex medical equipment, and conducting fault diagnosis and technical intervention.
Where necessary, the post holder must attain required training standards for maintaining medical devices, adhere to procedures and policies, and utilise technical skills like hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and manual labour, including lifting equipment and using hand tools.
Managing medical device records by updating databases and providing occasional non-clinical advice is required. The role includes implementing and proposing changes to departmental practices, maintaining physical assets and equipment, and ensuring stock control and security.
Candidates should have strong technical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to high standards of patient care and safety. Development and training opportunities are available for candidates with the appropriate levels good aptitude and role.
