As a vital member of the clinical team, you will be responsible for providing targeted interventions to inpatients with mental health conditions.
Your duties will include offering advice, support, and compassionate care to service users in a multidisciplinary environment, as well as providing guidance to their caregivers. It is crucial that you adhere to the mission, vision, and values of Options for Care.

Main duties of the job
You will assist and assess individuals with Activities of Daily Living; including personal hygiene, dietary intake, budget management, and so on; with due regard to the principle of recovery as well as helping individuals to maintain independence from others by assessing and assisting in the development of daily living, domestic, communication and social skills.
When necessary, accompanying/escorting service users as directed by senior staff. Observe the requirements of the Mental Health Act 1983, Childrens Act and Child Protection and Vulnerable Adult procedures.
Under the supervision of a qualified team member, you will implement and assist with the evaluation of individual plans of care and report and record the results of implemented plans of care in the appropriate and agreed format.
You will assist senior staff in planning and delivering therapeutic and social activities for patients in the clinical area and be responsible for establishing therapeutic relationships with service users and implementing evidence-based therapeutic interventions under the guidance of the multidisciplinary team.

Job responsibilities
Options for Care is looking to recruit an exceptional Healthcare Assistant passionate about working with individuals with severe and enduring mental health diagnoses.
The successful applicant will support the clinical team by delivering specific interventions to the inpatient population and provide advice, support and care for service users with mental health needs within a multidisciplinary setting. You will promote the physical health and well-being of service users through support and education and assist qualified staff in physical health monitoring, including monitoring of blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, weight, and drug and alcohol screening (after appropriate training).
In order to apply for the post of Healthcare Assistant, the successful applicant must hold an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care and a Care Certificate. Must have experience working within mental health services or similar care experience. You must have the correct Right to Work in the UK on a full-time basis.

Essential Qualifications
• Completed NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
• Experience of working within mental health services or similar care experience
• Experience of working with behaviours that can be challenging
• Experience within a mental health rehabilitative environment
• Working Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and changes with Mental Health Act 2007
• Working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Safeguarding procedures
