More detail about the role An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well-motivated candidate to join our friendly Mortuary Services team as a trainee Anatomical Pathology Technician. Applications are welcome from compassionate, conscientious individuals with good administration, communication and technical skills. Based at the Royal Devon and Exeter (Wonford) site, the role is diverse and the post-holder will be responsible for providing support and practical advice to the bereaved, assisting with post mortem examinations, reconstruction of the deceased and supporting the corneal retrieval scheme by performing enucleations. Other duties include being involved in a full range of Mortuary and Bereavement service roles such as admitting and releasing of patients to funeral services, administrative duties and maintaining the cleanliness of the department. The right candidate will strive to deliver the highest level of service to the bereaved and associated service users. The role at times can be emotionally and mentally demanding. It requires meticulous attention to detail, high-levels of concentration, moderate physical strength and a positive attitude. Due to the nature of the work successful applicants will be required to undertake a Criminal Records Bureau Disclosure Check/Enhanced Disclosure Check. No previous experience is required as full training will be provided, however previous related work experience would be advantageous. Participation in the departments on call rota is a requirement of the role, and a full-driving licence is required. Candidates shortlisted for interview will be required to visit the department for an informal tour, practical assessment and to meet the team. The successful candidate will be enrolled onto the Level 3 Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology after 1 year of employment subject to competency review. Successful candidates will be expected to join the Associated of Anatomical Pathology Technologists (AAPT) and maintain continuing professional development. The Role: We have several opportunities to recruit enthusiastic and committed Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (Trainee PWPs) to join our expanding NHS Talking Therapies service operating across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. In this role, you will provide Low Intensity interventions whilst undertaking the Post-Graduate Certificate delivered by the University of Exeter commencing in March 2025.This training post will equip you to provide Step 2 Guided Self-Help Low Intensity Interventions to clients with a range of common mental health problems, such as anxiety and depression, for which CBT interventions are demonstrated to be clinically effective. You will be joining a motivated workforce and will be supported in the completion of both your academic study and clinical delivery by skilled and experienced supervisors. This role will be offered on a permanentcontract. The role typically comprises 3 days per week undertaking clinical practice with the service and 2 days per week attending university. University days will be hybrid training of a combination of remote and face-to-face teaching in a Bristol based location. The role is likely to include remote working but attendance at one of the BNSSG offices will be required at least twice a week. Skills and Experience: Essential: Undergraduate degree or evidence of previous successful study at Regulated Qualifications Framework Level 5 or Level 6; Evidence of one years working experience in settings with high exposure to people with mental health difficulties. Evidence of interpersonal skills to engage and develop working alliances with colleagues and patient. Evidence of an openness to learning new knowledge and skills. Ability to work under pressure. Excellent administrative and time management skills. Flexible and able to provide one evening shift (12-8pm) as required by service needs.
