As an Internal Auditor at Last Mile, you’ll report directly to our Chief Financial Officer and take responsibility for conducting audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, ensure compliance with policies, and verify the accuracy of financial and operational records. You’ll assess business processes, identify potential risks, and provide recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen financial controls.

Your responsibilities as an Internal Auditor:

Audit Planning: Develop and implement annual internal audit plans based on risk assessments for approval by the Audit Committee.
Internal Controls Evaluation: Assess and test the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas for improvement.
Financial Audits: Examine and test financial records and transactions for accuracy and compliance.
Operational Audits: Evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of business operations as required.
Reporting: Prepare detailed audit reports with findings and recommendations for management and for presentation at audit committee
Risk Management: Identify and assess business risks and recommend risk mitigation strategies for areas of improvement.


Experience / Knowledge:

Proven experience as an Internal Auditor or similar role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office
Ability to analyse large amounts of data and compile detailed reports.
Knowledge of auditing standards, procedures, laws, and regulations.
Qualifications:

A degree in a similar discipline or equivalent

I am currently looking for a Recruitment Coordinator to join our clients HR and Talent Acquisition team on a 6 months contract. You will join our client who are widely known across the UK, for being one of the leading high street banking groups. You will work Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, travelling to the Hub once a month on a core day. You will enjoy an hourly rate of £16.48 per hour working a 35 hour week.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements and create compelling job descriptions
• Complete all on-boarding checks and sift new starter forms
• Ensure candidates are fully up to date with process and are prepared for interviews

About the Role

Base Location: Glasgow / Perth

The purpose of the job is to act as a key member of the team responsible for the Group's consolidated management reporting to SSE's Board and Group Executive Committee. This includes the preparation of monthly management accounts, group forecast and budgets and other ad hoc reporting (including KPIs) in line with the Group financial calendar. As part of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring SSE's businesses apply a consistent approach to the internal reporting of financial information and for ensuring compliance with applicable Group policies and procedures.

The Internal Reporting team are also responsible for the governance of the Group's reporting structures and the role will have a specific focus on that aspect of the team's activities as part of the Group's digital finance transformation project. In addition, the Group Management Accountant will be expected to lead on continuous improvement process reviews and support the production of the Group's consolidated financial statements. This high profile role offers the holder excellent insight into the workings of a listed plc and requires liaison with Finance colleagues across SSE's businesses. The Group Management Accountant requires to work closely with senior colleagues including the CFO and Director of Group Reporting and will report to the Internal Reporting Manager.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Fully qualified Chartered Accountant with 3+ years Post Qualified Experience in a Financial Reporting or External Audit role, ideally with plc or relevant industry experience.

- Experience of listed plc reporting and corporate governance requirements would be advantageous.

- Experience of consolidated reporting including Group FP&A again advantageous.

- Continuous improvement approach focusing on process efficiency.
