This position is responsible for assisting the Sustainability Lead in the implementation of the Sustainability Plan and leveraging the value it creates through an effective communication strategy.
Essential Job Accountabilities
Conduct research, perform analysis, and deliver reports on findings on sustainability-related topics as assigned. Examples include researching sustainability in different infrastructure end-markets, conducting peer benchmarking, and gathering information on support programs and financial incentives for renewable energy transitions.
Develop plans for the Company’s Sustainability Week, including creative ways to engage employees with the Company’s mission for sustainability.
Monitor, facilitate and communicate progress of the Company’s sustainability programs and ensure program objectives are consistent with strategies, goals, measurements, and reporting standards.
Work with internal and external resources to coordinate the writing, layout, approval and publishing of sustainability reports to support the company branding as and industry sustainability leader.
Coordinate with the Sustainability Objective Owners and business operations to ensure relevant data is collected, properly documented, and available to support reporting and company communications.
Monitor renewable resources, sustainable work processes, and environmental science trends to ensure proper sustainability benchmarks are established to support management’s strategies in maintaining the Company’s industry leadership role.
Provide administration to the Sustainability Council to support it as a Center of Excellence by facilitating knowledge sharing and development of best practices.
Assist with project proposals and expediting owner acceptance and implementation of sustainability initiatives that differentiate the company from its competition.
Education
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or graduate-level program
Work Experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated time management skills, along with a high level of proficiency with MS Office Suite and the ability to learn new software quickly
- Strong problem-solving skills, with demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions to real-time challenges with consistent follow through
- Attention to detail/accuracy, quick learner and internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas, and develop new skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information and convey concepts, ideas and information
- Ability to set priorities, organize work, and work in high production environment while responding quickly and effectively under pressure, changing priorities and tight timelines/deadlines
- Team player who can operate effectively within a matrix management environment
- Ability and willingness to abide by Granite’s Code of Conduct daily
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for extended periods of time

Base Hourly Wage Range :
: $20.00 $25.00
