Leadership/Profession Lead and manage the successful implementation of International nurse recruitment, being the subject matter expert on the International nurse recruitment process and provide expert knowledge and guidance to managers & staff Oversee all aspects of International nurse recruitment, including managing relationships with key stakeholders, such as recruitment agencies, international recruits, Practice Development Team, HR/Recruitment and Ward Matrons. Have the ability to demonstrate skills and attributes of working autonomously and within a team. Monitor the pipeline of International nurse recruitment and escalate any concerns with delivery of agreed numbers to the Associate Director of Nursing (Workforce) Lead and manage the Internationally educated nurses recruitment programme to include welcome induction, UK orientation, language competency (IELTS), OSCE training plan and allocation of mentors/buddies. Develop and maintain strong communication links with key stakeholders, reporting the work stream performance and negotiating desired outcomes to support successful transition from recruitment to clinical practice across the organisation. Report on delivery and key outputs, risks, blockage, or gaps Deliver formal presentations and chair meetings where required. Participate in the recruitment, selection and retention of internationally educated nurses on behalf of all areas across the Trust. Work collaboratively with HR to maintain continuous improvements to service provision by maintaining current/up to date knowledge regarding the Nursing and Midwifery Council's (NMC) registration process for nurses and midwives trained outside of the European Economic Area (EEA). Remain aware of changes to the immigration system governing the way individuals from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland can work, train or study in the UK. Collaborate and lead on formulating Standard Operating Procedures with key personal in HR. Communicate swiftly any changes to both internal and external key stakeholders. Maintain responsibility and oversight for all aspects of housing and accommodation provision for International educated Nurses. Identify, plan, design, implement, monitor and control aspects of housing requirements in relation to international recruitment Be responsible and track budget for housing and provide monthly deduction spreadsheet to Payroll. Be responsible and accountable for expenditure on Trust credit card for expenses associated with International Nurse Recruitment and accommodation. Maintain line management responsibility for administrative support aligned to international recruitment Support the Associate Director of Nursing (workforce) in developing and presenting relevant papers and updates to the appropriate governance structure within UHCW. Education and Development Liaise with the Associate Directors of Nursing, Modern Matrons, Ward/Unit Managers and Practice Development Team, to identify the development and training needs of internationally educated nursing/midwifery staff within designated clinical areas. Link with the PDT to ensure implementation and evaluation of competency-based training programmes. This includes facilitating learning opportunities to meet the educational and skills development needs of overseas nurses and ensure this is captured in the welcome pack for the international recruits Link with the Practice Development Team (PDT); ensuring nurses are booked onto the OSCE Training Programme Link with PDT to ensure support requirements are in place for overseas nurses to successfully register with the Nursing & Midwifery Council Initiate, design and develop long term sustainable plans for international recruitment to support recruitment across the trust, aiming to reduce vacancy rates. Provide comprehensive reports on potential projects to increase International Recruitment and generate an income stream where appropriate. Is required to have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint and be proficient in IT Pastoral Care Provide pastoral support to International Recruits, using highly developed communication skills, forming a sensitive pastoral response based on the specific needs of each situation. Manage sensitive. complex & sometimes difficult communication to stakeholders and International Candidates. Develop, design and implement an out of hours helpline service for initial partition period to the UK Forge close links with local international community and Charity Group in support of new recruits and socialisation into UK. Develop a local sustainable model to assist nurses into UK way of life e.g. bank accounts, GP, local transport etc. Provide regular communication, contact, support and welcome meetings for international staff. Work with key internal and external stakeholders to review and update all welcome packs and documentation related to international recruitment, ensuring it accurately reflects the current offer of support and service from UHCW and supports our aim of being an International Employer of choice. Quality Management Link closely with the PDT to ensure good processes are in place for the running of the OSCE training Centre for e.g timetabling of staff, equipment deliveries and maintenance of the centre. Work with PDT to ensure robust development and implementation of a model for successful deployment of overseas recruits into clinical practice. Manage and monitor achievements against local and national outcomes. Critically analyse complex data and be able to advise on key actions or risks Maintain all documentation to support International educated nurse recruitment, including risk registers, action logs and decision logs. Act as a resource for staff to access and raise awareness of any issues that may impact on successful integration into clinical practice. Ensure that quality standards are set and monitored. Facilitate ward/department to receive and support overseas recruits. Act as an advisory in the recruitment, selection and retention of staff.
