Watford Planned Care Therapy Team are currently looking for band 4 Technical Instructors to work in the community setting.

The position offers experience of a mixed caseload of patients with various pathologies; including amputees, neurological / stroke rehabilitation, Parkinson’s disease, falls / balance impairments, orthopaedics, management of long term conditions and palliative / end of life care. The aim is to rehabilitate and maximise the patients' potential, to support and enable patients in a range of activities to promote independent living in their home environment.

The team is a well-established and covers a large area and population size, the position requires assessing and treating patients for the occupational therapy service, providing equipment and intervention for patients in their own homes, liaising with patients, family, carers and other MDT staff.

A full valid driving license and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

Working with the Occupational therapy team you will assess and treat people in their own home environments. Travelling in your own car across the locality. Provision of therapy and equipment as you assess. Working closely with other members of the team and the wider therapy team consisting of physio's and rehab assistants.

You will be an autonomous practitioner who carries their own caseload and its management, planning your day to see patients, record your documentation on electronic records, order and manage equipment, and stock monitoring of satellite stores.

The purpose of this post is: To assist in the provision of a safe, efficient and comprehensive pharmaceutical service for the patients of West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust e.g. dispensing and supply of medicines to wards and departments, reception duties in the dispensary.

Provide high quality safe care to critically ill patients and their families and loved ones. Undertake shift coordination of the Intensive Care Unit.

The post holder will acquire and maintain a high level of professional competence in the performance of all tests, investigations and measurements carried out under the band 7 remit. They will be expected to interpret and act upon results of tests, investigations and measurements in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. The individual will be expected to contribute to new proposals and protocols, especially for service improvements, and share the responsibility for quality assurance. Active involvement in the personal and professional development of other clinical cardiac physiologists and assistant cardiac practitioners is required. The post holder will work in a multidisciplinary team that includes other cardiac physiologists, assistant cardiac practitioners, radiographers, consultants and medical staff, nursing staff and all other personnel either hospital or externally based. The post holder will report to and is accountable to the two Lead Cardiac Physiologists.

To work as a skilled member of the nursing team, to provide a high standard of holistic family centred care to the children and their families. To act as a role model and expert clinical practitioner. To support the senior sister in managing the clinical area, including management of staff, acting as team leader, including addressing staff developmental needs through IPR. To undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of the Ward / Unit Manager. The post holder could be required to work on any childrens area according to the needs of the service.

The post holder will: Be responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without supervision. Take charge of the Neonatal unit on a regular basis, acting as shift co-ordinator and will undertake designated management role. Will actively participate and promote practice development and the creation of a learning environment. Provides clinical, educational and emotional support to parents/carers. We are seeking a Senior Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant to join our friendly Pharmacy team at Watford General Hospital.

You will assist, under supervision, with routine duties of a technical nature, including the dispensing and supply of medication to in and outpatients, the receipt, processing, storage and stock control of medicines.

You will respond to enquiries and requests from staff, patients and carers as appropriate.

This post would suit somebody with a hospital pharmacy background, or with community pharmacy experience wishing to make a change into the hospital environment, for which appropriate training will be provided.

You must have either successfully achieved the relevant units of pharmacy services skills NVQ level 2 (QCF) or the relevant units of a GPhC accredited training programme of equivalent level to pharmacy service skills NVQ level 2 (QCF).

Our Radiology Service is expanding! Starting in April 2025, our Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) will offer enhanced services to patients.

We are seeking experienced Radiographers in CT and / or MRI to join our dedicated team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals Trust, beginning in February 2025.

Radiographers will participate in our 7-day working model, featuring long shifts that will provide ample time off during the week. You will primarily be based at St Albans City Hospital, with the flexibility to work at our other locations, Hemel Hempstead Hospital and Watford General Hospital.

The development of the Community Diagnostics Centre, equipped with modern CT and MRI scanners, will enhance service quality for patients by increasing scanning capacity and reducing referral-to-treatment times.

The positions are perfect for current band 5 and 6 Radiographers with CT and / or MRI experience who want to expand their skills and become part of our established team.
