The successful applicant will work in the capacity of a registrar to one of the consultants within the General Surgery Unit and will be responsible for both inpatient elective and emergency work as well as supporting the trauma team whilst on call. The General Surgery Unit is served by four consultants with sub-specialist interest in UGI, vascular surgery, Paediatric surgery and endocrine. The Brokerage Liaison Officer plays a vital role in the Adult Social Care pathway in Staffordshire. This position is responsible for obtaining care offers from the market and establishing care and support for residents and/or their representatives.

This role involves managing the end-to-end brokerage pathway, including sourcing care offers through the council’s commissioned systems and directly communicating with residents of Staffordshire to establish care and support.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. Redbridge Integrated Care Directorate invites applications for the post of Band 6 Specialist Depot/Clozapine Mental Health Nurse.

The post holder will work within a multi-disciplinary Mental Health Wellbeing Team in Redbridge.

NELFT has recently launched the mental health transformation programme and aims to radically transform our whole model of mental health care and support.

The integrated teams will merge assessment, brief intervention, and recovery services. Our intention is not just to redesign care pathways but to develop a new ethos and culture that helps transform how we work together with our partners as ‘one team’ sharing care. There is new investment for mental health, peer support, and Support Time and Recovery workers to support the integrated teams in providing seamless care around the individual, their families, and their social networks.



The post holder will be required to manage and have responsibility for a busy Depot Clinic and at times cover the Clozapine Clinic in absence of the regular Clozapine Clinic nurse. You will also have responsibility for those service users under the MHWT without Care coordinators or key workers. Your responsibility will be to ensure risk assessment are updated, medical review is booked, and physical health screening has been carried out.

The post holder will also be required to utilise evidence-based practice, client centred approaches to assess service users mental state as they attend clinic and sign post as appropriate. The Post Holder will respect diversity, practice ethically and aim to challenge inequalities within service delivery.

In consultation with the matron the post holder will maintain effective communication with statutory and voluntary services, service users and carers within NELFT and Redbridge.

The post holder will be required to undertake specific duties on behalf of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Teams, which will include supervision of some junior staff, mentorship, teaching and assessing of nursing students on placement within the team.

The post holder will contribute as required by the team manager in the process of service audit, evaluation, development in line with the National Service Framework and the Modernisation Agenda within Mental Health Services.

Probationary Period

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.


High Cost Area Supplement – London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of15% of basic salary, with a minimum of £4,551 and maximum of £5,735, pro rata for part time staff.

Main Responsibilities

You will:

• Conduct and coordinate the delivery of data subject rights, including rights of access, rectification and erasure regarding children’s social care records.

• Deal with requests from the public in a timely and consistent way with professionalism and empathy
• Provide necessary support to the requestor receiving their information, offering guidance throughout the process and the post release of files.
• Respond to requests for information from external agencies, including court orders, local authorities and other statutory or private organisations.
• Create summaries and chronologies from records in response to statutory checks.

The Ideal Candidate

What you'll bring:

• Detailed knowledge of Data Subject Rights in accordance with the DPA and GDPR.
• Experience in understanding the needs of vulnerable children/adults and the impact social care involvement may have had on them.
• Knowledge about safeguarding, including the ability to identity potential risks in releasing sensitive data.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proven computer skills including Microsoft Office packages.
