Here at Serco, we are looking for a People Data Specialist to support the Operational Support Centre Workforce Management mission to establish and embed workforce management capability and practice, as part of Serco’s ambition to be the best managed business in its sector. You will support contracts to ensure that employee terms and conditions and ways of working are understood, accurately documented, and any data discrepancies or HR issues that arise are addressed.
In this key role, you will support the Time2Work Programme rollout across the UK & Europe division by building capability in the way we use data to drive decision making around pay and hours and to ensure correct interpretation of terms and conditions relating to working hours, leave, variable pay and allowances in our time and attendance system implementation.
As part of this you’ll:
- Work with Contract Managers, Payroll administrators and Senior People Partners to understand and review documented terms and conditions in respect of working hours, leave, variable pay and allowances and ensure any discrepancies or errors are reviewed and corrected.
- Ensure all relevant contractual entitlements not held in central systems are accurately defined and documented, taking account of ways of working and terms held at a contractual level to ensure that discrepancies and errors are resolved and changes are proposed and actioned as required to enable accurate codification of terms into Time2Work.
- Conduct quality assurance and analysis to identify any discrepancies or errors prior to Time2Work implementation, advising contract on the issues identified so that solutions can be identified.
- Interpret and analyse terms and conditions, working closely with the People & Culture Governance, Risk & Compliance team, Payroll, and Senior People Partners as well as Workforce Management to understand and apply contractual and statutory requirements, and make recommendations to strengthen HR compliance and governance and mitigate statutory and contractual risks.
- Provide advisory support to Contract Managers of the impact of terms and conditions into Time2Work, best practice and statutory and compliance risk, working with HR and our contracts to develop implementation plans to align or correct terms and conditions.
- Support Workforce Management experts and project implementation teams in the correct codification of terms and conditions to ensure statutory and contractual compliance, and ways of working are applied into Time2Work and Workforce Management processes and gain contract and HR approvals.
- Work with Payroll and HRIS teams, Contract Managers and Senior People Partners to ensure contractual information is correctly recorded in all data generation sources.
What you’ll need to do the role:
- An experienced HR professional with strengths in project delivery, change management, organisation design and culture.
- Be highly organised and capable of working across multiple workstreams and projects at the same time.
- An expert Excel user and can apply analytical techniques to interrogate and present data in a clear and compelling way, using graphical representations and data visualisations.
- Confident system user of SAP HCM, SAP Business Warehouse, Microsoft Power BI.
- Able to analyse complex problems and to deliver insightful, practical and sustainable solutions.
- Take a practical approach to solving issues and gaining agreement on the scope of the projects and initiatives to be delivered.
- Able to build relationships with key HR and business stakeholders, has strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to confidently challenge with people at all levels both internally and externally.
- Have creative ingenuity and a proven ability to find or design simple solutions to complex challenges.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and is willing to get stuck in when needed.
