Key Responsibilities – SHEQ Manager

• Maintain and develop and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) aligned with ISO 45001:2018 requirements.
• Conduct gap analyses to ensure ongoing compliance with ISO 45001:2018 standards and recommend improvements.
• Identify and assess hazards in mineral processing activities (e.g., heavy machinery, hazardous chemicals, working at height).

• Enhance employee awareness of SHEQ standards and responsibilities through workshops, toolbox talks, and onboarding sessions.
• Prepare and present regular SHEQ performance reports, including KPIs related to safety incidents, environmental impact, and product quality.
• Maintain detailed documentation for ISO certifications, audits, and compliance activities.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and external auditors to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.

Qualifications & Experience – SHEQ Manager

• Certifications such as ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH, or equivalent qualifications.
• Additional certifications in ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 9001:2015 are advantageous.
• At least 5 years of SHEQ management experience in the mineral processing, mining, or heavy industry sector.
• Proven experience implementing and maintaining ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 9001:2015 systems.

Your new role
We are looking to recruit at Manager or Associate Director level. This role would be integrated into the wider Birmingham tax team, but also into the national ESG/Reward team. Supporting the national partners on projects won from elsewhere, with access to the junior staff from the national Reward team as required, but you would also focus on winning (with partner support) work from Birmingham clients and servicing work locally.

Someone with at least a few years specialist Reward/share schemes experience is required for this role rather than a generalist looking to specialise. We are also open to recruiting from law firms provided that they are already specialists.

The educational component may involve direct work with patients and their carers either in person or remotely, however the main focus is to support the clinical practice and development of DCHS clinicians and so supervision, mentoring, support and education will form the bulk of the role. This may be in providing 1-1 support shadowing a trainee during their usual duties, undertaking Workplace Based Assessments (WPBAs) or reviewing patients together in a community ward, Urgent Treatment Centre, clinic or care home setting. As a qualified ECP practice educator the post-holder may be asked to provide input for trainees undertaking non-medical prescribing and clinical assessment training modules and as part of this may be asked to take the role of Practice Supervisor or Clinical Mentor for particular trainees. Appropriate training and support for undertaking these roles will be provided as required. Advancing Practice across Derbyshire is growing at a considerable pace. The challenges of support for trainees at both enhanced and advanced Clinical Practice in UTCs is widely recognised. Enhanced level practice is an area which we are focussing on for the coming year as we are keen to ensure that there is a defined training structure and access to capability framework for colleagues working at this level of practice.

We are excited to offer this opportunity either on 12-month fixed term contract or secondment arrangement for a qualified and experienced ECP (enhanced community practitioner) to join our growing Multi-Professional Practice Education Team to work as a Practice Educator for UTC Enhanced Practitioners. The role is 37.5 hrs per week, worked across Mon - Fri. We will need successful applicants to be willing to work flexibly and to travel as our trainees are Derbyshire-wide. Geographical areas and restrictions can be discussed and negotiated within reason and both remote and virtual working ensures that travel is done only where necessary.

To be eligible for the role applicants must have completed both Advanced Physical Assessment and non-medical Prescriber training and have at least 2 years' experience in practice in an ECP (community) role.

These roles are currently advertised for a period of 12 months, however, there may be an opportunity to become permanent.



The role will involve meeting with individual trainees in their clinical setting to undertake the role of practice educator, support with commencement and progression with a portfolio of evidence of capability and providing 1:1 roving supervision sessions within their clinical setting to support with workplace-based assessments. The successful applicant will have a key role in enhancing this service delivery and helping to evaluate and expand it further.

The successful applicant will have the benefit of becoming part of the Multi-Professional Practice Education Team for peer support and networking, and training around supervision skills and requirements etc will be offered as part of induction process.

These sessions support continuing professional development and training for the range of clinicians working at and towards a level of Enhanced or Advanced clinical practice as described by NHSEngland. This will include clinical practitioners working in the four urgent treatment centres.

Educators will be expected to:
• Support development of clinical reasoning and decision making
• Guide development of clinical assessment skills
• Undertake work-place based assessments to provide structured feedback to form part of a portfolio of clinical capability for practitioners
