The Department of Physics at the University of Liverpool is one of the worldwide construction sites for the upgrade of the Inner Tracker (ITk) for the high-luminosity upgrade of the ATLAS experiment at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider. The ITk upgrade is a new detector for measuring the momentum and origin of charged particles emanating from the proton-proton collisions in the centre of the experiment.
The University of Liverpool will produce approximately 3000 strip hybrids, and approximately 580 strip and 500 pixel modules for the ITk. We are looking for two research technicians to take a crucial role in the production of these modules. These are highly skilled roles, crucial for the delivery of a world class detector for the LHC. The successful candidates will assemble high quality hybrids and modules, perform quality control, and record the related data to the database before preparing the items for shipping. They will work effectively as part of a team to ensure the project is delivered to schedule.
• Research technician for the construction and quality control of pixel and strip modules, during production for the ATLAS Upgrade project in the Department of Physics.
• The manufacture and assembly of high precision particle detector components.
• Occasional communication with staff and students on issues relating to the technical services, facilities, and equipment.
• A technical role supporting a large volume of varied activity in an academic department/school/institute or centralised teaching facility.
These posts coincides with the production phase of the ATLAS ITk upgrade. Subject to funding availability, there could be future possibilities of employment within the Department on other projects requiring similar skills and experience.
These roles requires the highest standard of cleanroom working disciplines to be applied. You will be required to work from formal engineering drawings and specifications. Good sensory and physical co-ordination is essential given the small scale and delicate nature of the detectors. Experience of working in a clean room environment and on wire-bonding are highly desirable.
You will have good communication skills and the ability to instruct others (e.g., students) in the production procedures. You will have a BTEC Higher (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or relevant professional experience.

Cheshire and Merseyside Adult Gender Identity Collaborative (CMAGIC) is a new NHS England pilot, establishing how Gender Incongruence can be best treated within a Primary Care setting. We are seeking a specialist nurse to support the delivery of this care and they will work closely with our MDT, local GP's, relevant partner agencies and of course directly with service users.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in developing not only a new service, but a new way of delivering care for a disadvantaged service user group. The role will likely involve travel, so a car user is essential.

To provide direct, clinical nursing care to the service users of the Cheshire and Merseyside Adult Gender Identity Collaborative (CMAGIC). This will involve direct and indirect care of services users of CMAGIC and an ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a wider team is essential. To be able to manage a caseload of patients and support patients throughout their journey.

A client within the public sector based in Merseyside is currently recruiting for a Housing Improvements Officer to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, contract position with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority environment.

The Role

Key purpose of the role is to assess adaptation requirements in line with relevant legislation, undertake design work to address identified requirements efficiently and effectively and manage the delivery of the works to a high standard.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• provide a service to clients who are enquiring about, have made an application for, or have received approval for, the various types of grant or loan assistance.
• organise and oversee all technical aspects of the Housing grants / loans process from receipt of initial enquiry through to completion.
• inspect properties with regard to the legislation and standards appertaining to the Housing Health and Safety Rating System, the Decent Homes Standard, Disabled Facilities Grant and other relevant standards, as appropriate

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you will require to be qualified to at least HND/HNC level Building Construction and / or Surveying or equivalent.

It will be essential to be in experiences in the below:

• experience in a residential building / surveying related discipline with knowledge of the building industry, surveying practices and techniques, adaptations and general domestic building maintenance / repair practices.
• experience in producing detailed specifications, schedules of work and plans using CAD programmes.
• ability to compile and maintain a schedule of rates, tender preparation and negotiation, contract administration, quality and cost control.

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £21.46 p/h Umbrella Ltd. (approx. £17.50 p/h PAYE)
