Highways Operative – Cullompton

Our clients are looking for Highways Operatives to join their hardworking dedicated team in Cullompton.

Key Responsibilities:

Work as part of a team undertaking Highways repairs, ranging from Patching, Resurfacing, Potholes, Drainage, Footways and General Highway Maintenance.
Use technology (tablets/apps) to input safety data and maintenance records.
Drive/operate plant and equipment where trained, necessary for the for the day to day tasks set.
Take responsibility for vehicles/plant/materials in your charge.
Where appropriate provide direction/supervision of the work to less experienced operatives.

Essential Skills:

Driving License ideally clean some points accepted
A commitment to Health and Safety.
Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy.
Ability to undertake a high level of manual work and work outdoors in all weathers.
CSCS Card.

Desirable Skills:

Highways experience.
HGV licence.
New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) not essential
Operative Accreditation Lantra 12D not essential

Rate of Pay:

£11.50 - £13.50 per hour depending upon experience.
Overtime at 150% after 40 hours

HGV Roadworkers - Newton Abbot - £11.50-£13.50 per hour + overtime

As an HGV Roadworker you will be required to carry out, as part of a team, a wide range of road maintenance and construction activities which may include but is not limited to kerbing, slabbing & tarmacing including the operation of power tools, small plant and machinery. This role will include winter maintenance.

You will also need to have responsibility for the health and safety of the public, colleagues and yourself, participate in emergency rosters if required by management and prepare written returns including fault report details if required.

An HGV licence is required and a Streetworks certificate would be advantageous, you must, however, have a valid CSCS card and CPC card.

This is a great role with a 40 basic hour week at an excellent hourly rate of £11.50-£13.50 depending upon experience, with overtime paid at 150% for hours over 40, overtime also paid Saturday at 150% and 200% on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Our clients require Traffic Management Operatives to carry out tasks such as setting up temporary traffic lights, manning road closures ensuring all schemes run smoothly and efficiently during each working day.

Due to the nature of the industry each role would require a certain flexibility and must be able to work both days and nights, including some weekends as required.

What does a live-in carer do?
As a professional live-in carer in the South West of England, you’ll provide personalised care that enables clients to stay in their own homes. We offer flexible rota patterns to help you balance work and personal life, and we welcome carers with at least six months of professional experience. You’ll stay with your client during your chosen rota pattern, caring for one person (or sometimes a couple) and following a tailored care plan. Duties include daily activities, personal care, condition management, and household tasks. You’ll typically work an average of 8–10 hours per day, with daily rates based on hours worked.

More detail about the role This is an exciting opportunity to join the Elective Orthopaedic service at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Hospital as Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner. This 37.5 hour/week permanent position will support the Therapy teams in the assessment, diagnosis & treatment of a specified caseload within the Trauma & Orthopaedic ward and day surgery environment. There will be a clear focus on the early mobilisation and rapid discharge of patients following admission to the hospital. There may also be an opportunity to assist the OT service in the pre-operative assessment of patients. The post holder will work alongside the therapy teams and provide close liaison with family, carers and external agencies to ensure safe and effective transfer of patient therapy from the in-patient setting to home or other services as appropriate. The aim will be to support same day discharge where possible. The post includes regular weekend and bank holidays, long days and commitments across seven days.
