The Role of a Maintenance Operative

A maintenance operative carries the responsibility for the domestic repairs & maintenance upkeep of the premises, minor projects within the site complex and all compliancy needed for the running of the site.

- The Maintenance Operative to ensure that all parts of the environment are safe, welcoming, clean, hygienic, in good repair and sensitive to the needs of the students being looked after

- To provide high professional standards of record keeping, and reports related to the site.

- To participate in and undertake regular audits of the quality systems as necessary.

- To undertake regular inspections and address works from contractors which fall below required standard.

- To ensure compliance with all current and prevailing national regulations and inspection standards, relevant to core functions, for this type of establishment.

- To ensure compliance with all current and prevailing national regulations for Environmental Health and the standards of the regulatory body for inspections

- To take responsibility, and manage Maintenance of your work load, to provide effective and pro-active works

- To liaise closely with the Regional Facilities Manager on larger projects and seek the Facilities Manager’s regular assistance with technical matters on repair, maintenance or improvement projects.

- To identify projects around the facility that will improve the image, functionality, operational or educational efficiency use of the facility for staff, students or visitors.

- To ensure that projects are completed within programme, and that areas occupied by contractors / suppliers are left in good condition.

Maintenance Engineer
Goole – Up to £40k - Mon to Fri (2pm finish on Fridays)

Our client in Goole are keen to recruit an electrically and mechanically skilled maintenance engineer to strengthen a small maintenance team who maintain and repair all machinery and equipment on site minimise production down time and meet customer demand.

The duties of the Maintenance Engineer include:
Controlling the In-House Preventative Maintenance System, working alongside another maintenance engineer and apprentices as well as alone, ensuring all PPM’S and are up to date
Review existing process, with a view to offering improvement suggestions
The repair of machinery that has been reported as ‘broken down’ in a timely manner whilst meeting the requirements for health and safety

We are delighted to share an opportunity for a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our client and support their operations at their headquarters in Long Marston.

The role

As a key member of the team, you will assist with the maintenance and day-to-day running of all fixed plant and machinery, ensuring maximum equipment reliability and production efficiency.

• £14.93 per hour
• 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
• Rotating shifts, 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 10pm
• Long Marston, Stratford-upon-Avon

Key accountabilities

• Quickly address and assist in correcting plant breakdowns.
• Oversee the repair of plant machinery and maintenance of facilities, tooling, and equipment.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the reliability, efficiency, and performance of site equipment.
• Provide technical assistance to Supervisors in plant operations.
• Ensure plant availability and production are maintained at the highest possible level.
• Adhere to legislation and company standards, including Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Community policies.
• Perform other duties as required to support the company’s goals.

Skills & experience

• Experience in medium to heavy industry.
• Welding/fabricating experience and qualifications.
• Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Electrical qualifications (advantageous).
• FLT licence would be advantageous.

You will be working for a local housing association who cover north Leeds and Majority of North Yorkshire, with stock all over the region.
Your new role
You will be working as a Team leader, this is a mobile position so you will be expected to manage a team of 3-5 operatives with day-to-day repairs and maintenance within the properties across the region, covering Huddersfield - Whitby and more, a van is included in this role as a mobile team leader.
What you'll need to succeed
You must have:
Trade knowledge (multi trade knowledge is preferable)
NVQ or C&G is preferred
Clean UK Full Drivers Licence
Must pass a Basic DBS
Must be able to provide two work related references
