We are currently looking for a Maintenance Fitter to join our team based at Tarmac Cloddach Sand and Gravel Quarry, Elgin, near Inverness. The role is easily accessible from Elgin, Forres, Kinloss, Lossiemouth and the surrounding areas.

Reporting to the Section Manager, the Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for:

• Carrying out scheduled planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities to maintain plant condition and performance to support the delivery of the weekly production schedules
• Monitoring and maintaining condition and performance of the various plant equipment and identify any circumstances that could result in an impact on availability or performance while supporting the Quarry Manager to meet defined KPI targets
• Carrying out mechanical activities safely and ensuring jobs are completed in a timely manner and leading mechanical breakdown and planned repairs to ensure expected plant reliability and to optimise plant and equipment performance
• Ensuring most effective mean time to repair methods are adopted to minimise production disruption and downtime

The ideal candidate for the role of Maintenance Fitter will be able to demonstrate proven experience working within an Industrial, Factory or similar environment as a Maintenance Fitter as well as:

• Good knowledge of crushing, screening, conveying, hydraulic and pneumatic systems required
• Fault finding ability to identify defects and recommend appropriate action
• Good practical knowledge and experience of maintenance systems required
• Ability to assess SHE risks arising from work activities and control risks accordingly
• Knowledge of site-specific SHE procedures and Safe Working Practices
• Working knowledge of plant and machinery
• Proven evidence of using own initiative
• Able to work part as a team
• Happy to support other Tarmac sites in Keith, Lossiemouth and Inverness
• Fabrication skills advantageous

What you'll be doing;

• Schedule the maintenance aspects of the plant, by reducing disruption to operations and maximising uptime and availability.
  
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance work in a heavy industrial environment.
  
• Prevent plant breakdowns by ensuring the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) is carried out and is optimal.
  
• Manage inventory and spare parts in line with approved systems.
  
• Analyse causes of unscheduled downtime and drive continuous improvement projects.
  
• Liaise with contractors and third parties to organise specialist maintenance works.
  
• Implement risk assessments for maintenance activities.
  
• Work with engineers and provide leadership to fitters' mates and apprentices.
  

What we're looking for;

• Level 3 NVQ Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Applicants with Level 2 NVQ Mechanical Engineering and relevant work experience will also be considered.
  
• Trade qualified in MIG and arc welding techniques.
  
• Experience working with electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and material handling equipment.
  
• Maintenance experience in a fast-paced production process environment.
  
• Experience working with material handling equipment in fast-paced production lines - conveyors, baling equipment, low voltage equipment, motors, material handling equipment, plant auxiliaries, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and optical separation, magnetic and Eddy current separation technology.
  
• Excellent time-management and organisational skills.

This position works under a trails maintenance leader or other higher-graded employees. The incumbent primarily assists in maintenance and construction of graded and paved trails, trail drainage, trail bridges, and guard rails. Assists in the installation, repair and replacement of water diversion bars, cribbing and retainer walls. Removes windfalls, rockslides, surface outcroppings and debris from trails. Builds up tread surfaces in eroded areas. Installs stepping stones at creek crossings where bridges cannot be constructed. Maintenance Electrician required for a heavy engineering company in the Buxton area. This is a great opportunity for an electrically biased engineer to join a growing company who can offer fantastic training and overtime opportunities within a days-based position.

Candidates will need to be a qualified electrician and can come from any background working with control circuits, PLCs, variable speed drives etc. You will need experience working in an industrial environment – manufacturing and/or heavy industry experience would be advantageous but not essential.
