• Installs new roofs of all types by removing old roofs and preparing surface to accept new roofing material as slate, tile, asphalt shingles, and rubber roofing.
• Determines roofing damage and makes necessary repairs.
• Prepares, installs, and maintains rubber roofing.
• Utilizes roof jacks, roof removing tools, tile cutters, and all tools of the trade.
• Fabricates and installs flashings, roof drains, gutters, downspouts, and firewall vents.
• Replaces sheathing, boards, and joists. Operates crane, truck, tractor, or motor vehicle when performing roofing work.
• Performs duties of a journeyman carpenter, woodcrafter, painter, mason, cement finisher, roofer and drywall finisher which involves construction, alteration, repair, maintenance or modification of items and structures.
• Plans and lays out masonry work involving maintenance, repair and construction on structures consisting of brick, block, or stone.
• Plans and completes projects from initial layout to final assembly or installation.
• Planning and layout work is difficult as instructions are most often less specific, requiring incumbent to measure accurately and to fill in the gaps on incomplete blueprints, sketches, and work requests and also because finished items are usually closely joined to other assemblies to strengthen and support or to provide air and weather-tight assemblies.
• Repairs and modifications are complicated by the requirement to know the size, shape, and purpose of the completed structure in order to measure, cut, and fit specific items.

Permanent up to £35k three rotating Shifts

Maintenance Planner to work alongside engineering team colleagues to provide an efficient and effective maintenance planning support to the team ensuring a smooth operation. Supporting both internal and external customers ensuring all planning and administration duties relating to Engineering Projects are delivered in an accurate and timely manner.

Main responsibilities:

Engineering document supply and control (SOP's, Risk Assessments etc.)
·Raising Purchase Orders for materials, service, and contracts
·Maintain the company's quality ISO 9001; 2015 management system.
·Administration of maintenance software programmes
·Communicating with contractors and suppliers
·Identify key critical engineering spares and ensure they are stocked and maintained.
·Work with the Engineering Team and Suppliers to ensure cost effective spare parts are sourced.
·Feedback unusual movement or high consumption of spares
·Complete and process Purchase order requisition form
·Process and take record of Deliveries coming in to engineering department.
·Liase with internal stakeholders to agree and organise work activity.
·Work with Engineering to log work sheets accurately and generate reports accordingly.
·Logged Engineering Team holidays following management approval.
·Inform management of any obstacles to making safe, efficient deliveries on time.
·Primary plant control for technical support enquires.
·Point of contact for all technical enquiries requiring an engineering response.
·Assisting with the management of engineering projects from start to finish, including tracking progress and coordinating with key stakeholders.
·Preparing reports and presentations on engineering projects and data.
·Coordinating meetings and events for the engineering department
·Maintaining technical communication.
·Provide general administrative support to the engineering department.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements:
·GCSE or level 3 or equivalent qualification in maintenance or technical.
·A minimum of 3 year of experience in a technical/engineering support role is highly advantageous.
·Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and data.
·Must have good analytical skills and be detail orientated.
·Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Auto CAD
·Experience of using CMMS system
·Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
·Must have the ability to work well under time constraints in a fast-placed, deadline driven environment.

The Role

Typical day as a Maintenance Surveyor

• Carrying out pre and post inspections of repairs on both responsive and void properties, managing a patch covering the Harrow area. Ensuring high-quality work and that our customers are happy with the outcome.


• Providing technical advice and support to our trades, maintenance managers, sub-contractors and suppliers so we deliver a high-quality, cost-effective and compliant service.


• Contract management including progress against building works schedules. Utilising customer insight to support us in delivering on our customer promise.


• Managing any disrepair cases and helping customers combat damp and mould issues in their homes.


• Accurately measuring materials to enable a ‘right first time’ approach.


• Ensuring void re-servicing is carried out to a high standard, enabling re-let as soon as possible.

You have

• Building surveying experience including property condition and dilapidation surveys and specifying remedial works.


• Hold a Building Surveying qualification HND, HNC or Degree Level.


• Ideally hold RICS, CIOB professional registration or working towards this.


• Current knowledge of building repairs, construction as well as CDM roles and responsibility.


• Able to manage, control budgets and expenditure.


• A vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!


• A self-starter approach, able to work unsupervised to manage your own patch, working commercially to deliver our programmes of work on time and to budget.

Your new role
You will be joining an experienced engineering team assisting in production efficiency and reducing engineering downtime. You will be involved in setting up and changing over equipment for production runs, completing daily engineering work reports and recording any work on the CMMS. You will support the site operations and technical teams to increase efficiency, responding immediately to any breakdowns, accurately recording any engineering downtime and root cause analysis detail and working on findings to prevent repeat issues.
