About the role


Building safety has always been an important area of Colchester Borough Homes activity. As an organisation we are taking the necessary steps to ensure that we address all of the requirements of legislation, including the relatively new Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Act as well as emerging themes from the Social Housing Regulation Bill currently being considered in Parliament. We also need to ensure our ongoing compliance with the Big 6 Health and Safety categories (Absestos, Legionella, Gas, Lifts, Fire and Electrical). CBH requires a staffing structure with necessary capacity and resources to meet these demands.


This is an exciting opportunity to work in our newly created Building Safety team. We are recruiting a Health and Safety Manager who will report directly into the Head of Building Safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring health and safety in the workplace, including safe working practices and an effective assurance framework that includes up to date policies and procedures. You will also be responsible for ensuring the necessary framework is in place to support comprehensive compliance with legal (including the Health and Safety at Work Act) and regulatory health and safety requirements for CBH as an employer and company and for any organisation to whom CBH offers this service.

ROLE SUMMARY

We need a passionate clinician who understands the need to tailor mental health care for the Armed Forces community and who is sensitive to the unique experiences that life in the Armed Forces brings. We provide ongoing training opportunities and encourage our staff to attend learning and networking events, to improve the care we can give to our patients.

You will be responsible for the care of a caseload of patients in the community, under the Op Courage Community Veterans Mental Health Service.

· The service is primarily a Monday-Friday 9-5 service, however there will be an expectation to work one weekend on a rota basis roughly every 8 weeks, with two weekdays off during this week

· This service covers the six counties that fall within the geographical patch of the East of England. A blend of face-to-face and remote working is required for working across this geography

You will;
• Manage a caseload of community based patients and be responsible for assessing need, care-planning and coordinating care, and discharging from services when care is complete.
• You will provide face-to-face and/or remote contact with your patients.
• You will have an understanding of what is available for this community across the social prescribing and charity sector, and provide referrals to these other organisations that can help meet identified needs

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Engage with identified clients to deliver the NHS Health Check.

• Provide agreed health improvement advice and signpost information.

• Drive the NHS health check mobile unit when required to various locations in Essex.

• Promote the equality and value the diversity of individuals.





CLINICAL/PROFESSIONAL DUTIES:

• On successful completion of training to perform NHS health check on clients and give feedback according to agreed protocols.

• Signpost and support individuals in accessing services and organisations to enable them to change their behaviour to improve their health.

• Engage with individuals in local communities which have identified health inequalities.

• Help individuals identify how their behaviour and context might affect their health and wellbeing.



COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

• Communicate verbally with individuals about the results of their NHS Health Check.

• Communicate with colleagues and other organisations using the telephone and email.

• Provide information to individuals about the relationship between behaviours and health.

• Enable individuals to develop their knowledge and skills about health and wellbeing.

• Signpost individuals to other agencies for information, support and resources.



ANALYTICAL AND JUDGEMENTAL SKILLS:

• Manage and organise own time and activities effectively as part of effective service delivery.

• Alert manager to any issues of concern relating to work (including concerns about individuals or work in the community).

• Monitor and maintain health, safety and security of self and others.

The Role

You will join a team of therapists who are experts at what they do. You will be providing professional advice and beauty treatments for our customers to ensure they have the best in-store experience.

Nails (manicure and pedicure), Threading, Tinting, Facial & Brow waxing, Lash extensions and Piercing.

We are looking for dynamic, confident and motivated mental health practitioners with excellent communication skills, who have the ability to assess and lead on clinical decision making to join our established Hospital Liaison Team. This is an exciting and challenging role, working in a fast paced working environment.

You will respond to service users in a mental health crisis who have presented to the acute hospital.. Your main role will be to complete holistic, mental health assessments incorporating robust risk assessments and treatment planning.

Working within Core 24 principles you will be providing specialist mental health care alongside physical health. This incorporates plans for a dedicated mental health suite within the emergency department.

A variety of experience can also be gained through working across the Urgent Care

The Urgent Care Pathway consists of Hospital Liaison, Crisis Response Team and Home First Team providing mental health crisis care for the Colchester & Tendring area. The teams work closely and there are opportunities to experience working in these teams if the need arises.
