Retail Finance Analyst (FTC 12 months)
Retail Finance Purpose
We have a brilliant opportunity to join our Retail Finance team as a Retail Finance Analyst.
The Retail Finance team forms part of a larger Commercial Finance team consisting of Commercial & Marketing, Healthcare Finance, Online & Distribution, Procurement and Property & Investments Finance.
The team is made up of 6 Finance Analysts and Management Accountants providing financial analysis and support to wide range of stakeholders including the Retail Operations Director and Store Operations team.
The team own the store running costs from a Finance perspective and act as valued business partners, ensuring that the store profitability analysis provided supports decision making.
We care about individual career development and we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us. There will be an opportunity to enrol on an apprentice scheme where we will support you towards either CIMA, ACA or ACCA accreditation.
Job Purpose
This is a key role that has responsibility for providing financial information and analytical support to the Retail Operations team to enable them to deliver their company targets and business profitability. You will act as the finance buddy for the Retail Operations team helping them with queries, forecasting and budgeting.
This role also has responsibility relating to the Financial Management of the cost centres relating retail store operations and store variable costs.
Key Responsibilities
As part of month end processes in relation to the regional & retail store operation and store variable costs, you will own the posting of these costs, ensuring that there are robust controls in place and that all costs are accurately accounted for and Balance Sheet reconciliations are completed with a high degree of insight.
Finance Business Partner to Retail Operations teams, which involves answering ad-hoc queries, attending regular meetings and being a point of contact within the finance team.
Ownership of all Retail Finance Regular Reporting and Packs.
Support the Senior Retail Analyst with the delivery of the Company’s Retail KPI Bonus model.
Partner the Reporting Project Analyst with the development and launch of new automated Power BI reports.
Support the Senior Finance Analyst with the Quarterly Forecasting and the Annual Budgeting process for Retail Finance Costs.
Providing financial analysis and support to investment decisions including business case preparation and presentations to the investment committee for retail related contracts.
Substitute for the Senior Finance Analyst in their absence.
Ad-Hoc support for the beauty services business in providing analysis, completing reporting and month-end preparation.
Person Specification
Experience of working within a Retail environment preferable but not essential.
Strong communication and time management skills.
Ability to develop strong working relationships across the business including working with non-finance customers and third party providers.
Self-motivated, confident and enthusiastic.
Experience using excel.
Ability to work in a fast pace and dynamic environment.
