The Office of Customer Service, led by the Associate Commissioner (AC, OCS), plans, organizes, and directs all activities of the office and is directly responsible for the accomplishment of the organization's mission by monitoring service delivery and performance, analyzing customer feedback, and identifying solutions that improve the customer's experience through a wide range of service delivery channels. As one of two Deputy Associate Commissioners for Customer Service (DAC, OCS) the incumbent is responsible for providing national oversight and direct support for SSA's customer service channels, including Call Answering Sites, Field Offices (FOs), Workload Support Units (WSUs), and Program Service Centers (PSCs). The incumbent researches and evaluates the applicability of innovative concepts and new technologies and recommends ways to improve customer service. Additionally, the DAC, OCS oversees the design, implementation, and maintenance of effective management information (MI) systems to assess the operational effectiveness and efficiency of SSA public service operations.

• Serve as an Information Technology Specialist (Customer Support) within the Customer Service and Computing Branch, Enterprise Systems Division, and Network Enterprise Center (NEC).
• Provide Tier II Information Technology support efforts to include, but not limited to the installation and configuration of personal computing hardware and software.
• Provide accurate and timely technical and functional support to customers who require advice, assistance, and training relating to desktop systems.
• Operate in both a proactive and a reactive troubleshooting work center environment.
• Support desktop systems on both the classified and unclassified networks.
• Utilize databases to track significant issues and events to facilitate trend analysis and customer needs.

• Serve as Army Community Service (ACS) multi-functional specialist with professional and technical responsibility for assisting Commanders with assessing, tailoring and prioritizing ACS service delivery in support of local military and family needs.
• Utilize computer and web-based resources to identify ACS resources and to develop source lists and reference materials.
• Manage and direct volunteers to promote effective team building and improved business practices.
• Design and establish marketing and public relations strategies to ensure target populations are informed of services and activities.
• Research and write articles on ACS services and activities.
• Conduct unit needs assessments through compiling and analyzing data to provide feedback to the unit Commander and ACS Director.

• Prepare hot and cold food serving stations for cafeteria style service.
• Stock juices, beverages, utensils, and quick service food carts when replenishment is needed.
• Clean dishes, pots, pans, and utensils manually or by use of dishwashing equipment.
• Operate a cash register for dining food and beverage sales.

• Serve as Army Community Service (ACS) Multi-Functional Specialist at the installation level with professional and technical responsibility for assessing, tailoring and prioritizing ACS service delivery in support of local military and family needs.
• Provide comprehensive and responsive ACS services to the population to include client intake, information and referral, crisis intervention, life skills, survivor outreach services, and transition services.
• Consult with on and off site community leadership officials on Soldier and Family Readiness services and related issues.
• Write articles and prepare memorandums of understanding to formalize agreements and roles.
• Provide individual and Family consultation services, education, referrals and follow-up.

Separates food waste and trash from dishes, glasses and silverware in dishwashing area. Loads and operates dishwashers, stores clean dishes, glasses and silverware. Washes tables and counters, vacuums and shampoos carpets. Sweeps and mops kitchen floors, cleans windows, washes walls and cleans and sanitizes trashcans.

Sorts, washes, peels and cuts fresh fruits and vegetables. Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Serves as a Food Service Specialist at a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
• Coordinates the Nutrition Care Supply needs daily with supply personnel/food service contract staff and conducts monthly physical inspections.
• Determines menu item popularity percentages based on review and analysis.

May unload food from delivery trucks. Collects and transfers trash from work area to disposal area.

Assembles and tosses fresh fruit or green salads in quantity using prepared dressings, serves into standard serving sizes. Makes cold sandwiches using prepared ingredients. Makes coffee, tea and other beverages.
