To support CSF Special Educational Needs Team in fulfilling its role in carrying out the statutory Education, Health, and Care (EHC) needs assessments of children and young people with special educational needs (SEN).

• Ensure EHC needs assessments are carried out in a timely way in collaboration with involved professionals and families.
• Support back log off annual reviews and phase transfer 0- 25.

• All parental and practitioner advice is available, using agreed information management systems.

• Input by all involved professionals to the EHC needs assessment process is co-ordinated so that statutory timescales are met.

Knowledge/Experience required:

• Candidate must have experience in processing annual reviews and be able to have a person-centered approach as well as having a thorough understanding of the required process when amending EHCP's.
• Candidate should have experience and knowledge of the phase transfer process and be able to carry out relevant case work and attend annual reviews.
• Case management experience which would support the tribunal service.

• Engage with schools and other agencies to develop an awareness and understanding of best practice in relation to assessment, planning and person-centred approaches
• Lead on the workforce development strategy by working with team managers to identify, manage and resolve any practice concerns
• Respond to all concerns raised via the SENDT process, and through formal, and informal, mediation and disagreement resolution meetings
• Act as a main point of contact for parents, carers or young people who lodge an appeal with SEND Tribunal or make a request for mediation/disagreement resolution as part of that process, as well as wider stakeholders such as schools, witnesses and legal representatives

Requirements

• Extensive experience in SEND Tribunal, Disagreement Resolution, Complaints and Workforce Development Officer role
• Excellent knowledge of SEND services and multi-agency practitioners
• Strong experience in preparing cases for tribunal, liaising with Legal Services, and representing Local Authority in a legal environment

Job Description

Responsibilities

• To support prospective carers of completion of FP2 forms and liaise with Business Support and the allocated Social Worker or Independent Social Worker
• Maintain oversight of the Permanency Planning Meeting including scheduling meetings, minuting and tracking cases
• Assist in providing responses to Freedom of Information Requests as required and requested by Head of Service/Service Manager
• To assist with new starters by arranging for IT kits, emails, Mosaic training and all other aspects
• Record minutes and notes in routine and sesnstive meetings, when requested by the Service Manager or Team Manager

Requirements

• Experience of having worked in a fast paced, citizen-focused environment
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate with a wide range of visitors and colleagues
• Significant experience of effectively using software packages, systems and databases to input and extra data
• Experience of minute taking
