About the role

As a Senior Care Assistant at MHA you will lead and inspire a team of committed care assistants to provide the highest quality of care to our residents enabling them to live later life well. Duties will be varied and include supporting our residents with personal care needs and helping them to take part in a wide range of activities that support their health and wellbeing. In addition, you will administer medication and maintain clear and accurate records. About you

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be passionate about caring for older people, have previous care experience and, as a minimum, hold an NVQ level 2 or equivalent in health and social care and be willing to complete level 3. Job Summary

PAWS has been formed from the merger of Pathology Services at Salford Royal Hospital and Wigan, Wrightington and Leigh Hospitals.

The post is based atSalford, but you may be required to work at other sites.

Biomedical Support Workers in Specimen Reception are required to provide support to Blood Sciences and other departments in Pathology. The duties are varied and include entering patient data into the laboratory IT system, assisting with the laboratory handling of most types of specimens and help with some analytical processes and perform general clerical work.

It is important to note that you will be required to participate in the laboratory rota, which requires delivery of a 24/7 service. This post involves working late shifts i.e. 12.00-20.00, 14.00-22.00 and night shifts as part of the department’s commitment to out of hours cover.

The main duty for this role is entering patient data into the Pathology IT system, assisting with the laboratory handling of most types of specimens and working on the track system. Other tasks include daily maintenance of laboratory equipment, maintaining laboratory archive systems, and general housekeeping tasks. There is a requirement to be able to lift heavy objects such as boxes and waste and to be able to push trolleys.

We require someone who is conscientious and capable of careful and accurate work with excellent customer care and communication skills. Good and accurate data entry skills are also required along with basic standards of numeracy and literacy. Previous laboratory experience may be an advantage but is not essential.

As Technical Manager you will be responsible for taking the lead across product and process development activities to meet the companies R&D / Marketing objectives, coordinating laboratory testing resources in line with ISO 9001:2000, CE Marking and other customer specific standards.

Technical Manager - Key Responsibilities

• Work with customers to develop new products and processes, advising choice of fabrics, specification enquiries, and properties.
• Co-ordinate internal and external non-conformances / complaints to ensure timely root cause analysis, corrective action and continuous improvement of manufacturing operations.
• Provide on time release documentation to customers in accordance with stated requirements
• Assist in the development of all employees in respect of quality management systems / standards & customer requirements.
• Issue experimental / temporary manufacturing instructions, organising and maintaining records of all trials undertaken.
• Take a key role in the Contract Review process.
• Review and prepare capital expenditure proposals for new equipment and improvements to manufacturing facilities.
• Provide data sheets, specifications, Health & Safety data sheets and other technical literature.
• Co-ordinate testing and trials of new products and processes which become available
• Ensure the company is up to date with patents and trademark renewals
• Arrange and supervise external testing as required.
• Assist with analysis, specifications, test methods and release queries in the laboratory.
• Co-ordinate and be involved in annual audits that are conducted by 3rd party organisations and customers for various products and processes.

Technical Manager - Experience Requirements

• Educated to Degree Level within a relevant technical discipline
• Previous experience of coordinating / managing Laboratory Testing activities
• Previous experience of Technical Textiles and/or fire, thermal or protective applications is essential

T4 Ward Manager - Major Trauma

We are looking for a highly motivated nurse with shared values to join our team. This is a unique, exciting secondement opportunity to work in the new GMMTH building at Salford Royal.

Previous experience working in the field of Neurosciences/Trauma is desirable but not essential. Education and development will be available, with opportunity to progress to achieve level 1 trauma competencies.

The successful candidate will manage ward/unit staff including appraisal, rota’s, recruitment and selection and the supervision of learners. Support and lead a team of nurses in the delivery of evidence based patient centred care, which is of a high standard. They are responsible for ensuring all care is delivered according to Trust policies and procedures maintaining associated records. Utilising clinical audit, research, supervision of practice and teaching, they will monitor and improve standards of care by efficient and effective use of resources.

This role will be based out of Rochdale skills centre.

The successful vocational tutor will be required to teach skills in construction and to develop, promote, deliver and assess training in order to maximise learning outcomes for students.

Key Responsibilities:
* Promote courses and recruit in order to maximise occupancy levels.
* Carry out initial and on-going assessment to ensure students are on the right programme and receiving the right level of support.
* Plan & design appropriate training programmes (including development of schemes of work, lesson plans, Apprenticeship Learning Plans etc), taking account of individual requirements to ensure differentiation of learning.
* Adopt effective use of new technologies including development of learning programmes on SoL-VE and use of webinars/Skype etc to meet market demands and enhance the learning experience for students.
* Deliver high quality, engaging training to encourage learners to attend, stay on programme and achieve.
* Manage the safe evacuation of students in the event of fire or other emergency, following agreed company procedures and ensure that health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
* Mark/assess students' work, provide structured feedback and set development objectives for students.
* Moderate course work/liaise with external moderators to ensure university and awarding body standards and deadlines are met (HE tutors only).
* Act as Programme Leader for specific awards with responsibility for admissions, the co-ordination of tutor resource, representation at exam boards, uploading of marks and programme evaluation (HE tutors only).

Skills Required:
* Industry experience in specialist area.

* Where appropriate, expertise in working with special needs e.g. LLDD (learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities) and challenging behaviour).
* Up to date knowledge of specialist subject area/professional qualifications as appropriate.
* Must hold teaching qualification - PGCE, PGDE, Cert Ed, DTLLS (and L5+ subject specialisms where necessary).
* Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and procedures including emergency evacuation
