The practitioner possesses the knowledge to assess when a patients conscious level warrants removal of either of the artificial airways referred The practitioner reports immediately, any adverse changes in the patients condition or any other aspect of concern as identified in the NEWS score as appropriate. The practitioner is competent in the recognition of primary post- operative complications and understands the need to act in a timely Practices nurse led discharge i.e. discharges patients from the recovery unit to the ward area.
