Financial Oversight:

•  Supports internal and external financial audits; serves as a contact for internal and external auditors.  Provides guidance on financial internal control issues.

Required Qualifications:

•  Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
•  Minimum of five (5) years overall work experience.

Job Responsibilities:

• Process invoices/check requests using automated AP system
• Enters vouchers into AP system and reviews for accuracy.  For employee expense reports, make sure all receipts are attached and adheres to policy.

THE JOB

We are seeking a Director of Accounting to manage accounting processes that impact key lines of business supported by the Ticketmaster North America Accounting group.  The role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable accounting rules and will manage all reporting due to internal and external stakeholders.  The role will manage, mentor and coach a team of accountants at various levels and be responsible for training and career development related to the team.  Our ideal candidate will roll up their sleeves and be actively involved in accounting processes at a detailed level.  The candidate should have 15+ years of increasing responsibility in accounting including at least 5+ years of demonstrated experience in managing and motivating an accounting staff at all levels.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Oversee various areas of accounting including Revenue accounting, Capitalized Software accounting, Fixed Assets accounting and other areas as needed.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules in support of the Live Nation consolidated financial reporting process
• Manage and mentor accounting staff while creating and promoting a supportive work environment
• Develop, document and maintain accounting procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls
• Organize and manage responses to internal and external audits including quarterly and annual SOX and financial audits
• Participate in ERP financial system transformation projects and other special projects, as needed

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (or TECHNICAL SKILLS)

• Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA

Accounting Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Oversees accuracy of processes performed by Administrators & provides feedback on performance.
• Evaluate the operational performance of the assigned section and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Review work methods and intra-departmental procedures to ensure effective workflow.
• Implements changes in operational procedures to improve efficiency/effectiveness.
• Ensures deadlines are being met.
• Prepares routine correspondence regarding processing for the department and the stores.
• Analyzes data to make best practice recommendations and identify possible expense control items.

Qualifications:

• Bookkeeping Certification, associate degree in Accounting or 2 years commensurate experience (required)
• Auto Industry Experience (preferred)
• Retail Sales and/or Customer Service (preferred)
• Prior supervisory experience required
• Ability to adapt frequently to change, delays, or unexpected events in the workplace.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally.
• PC skills including knowledge of MS Office.
• Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence.

The CA base hourly range for this full-time position is $64,500 - $87,500

This position is eligible for performance incentives, and benefits. 
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum salary range for new hire rates for the position across all CA locations.
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

This position provides analytical and project management leadership to Accounting and key business partners and will act as one of the points of contact on moderate to high complexity transformational initiatives defined by the management & senior leadership teams.  This position is responsible for leading continuous improvement, developing and executing detailed project plans, reporting to Senior Management & the field, and other tasks as assigned.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• With minimal direction, Partner with project customers to solidify initiative scope, timelines, budget, and resources. Assemble and lead project teams through the execution of defined objectives. Create and execute project plans, stakeholder analysis, risk logs, communication plans and other project framework artifacts as defined by CarMax’s Project Norms.  Review deliverables and prepare for stakeholder and sponsor reviews. Ensure project artifacts are complete, current, and stored appropriately. Work with project team members and other resources to remove project obstacles. Manage day to day project operational aspects with internal and external business partners/stakeholders (stores, home office departments, and vendors), customers and project team members.

• With minimal direction, Lead and support continuous improvement.  Responsibilities include but not limited to facilitating medium to large cross-functional working sessions, training department associates on implementation and change management best practices, rollout of new concepts and sustainment, and providing business areas with consultative support on medium to large continuous improvement initiatives.

Education and/or Experience

• CSM, PMP or Six Sigma Green Belt certification (preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related business degree
• 3-5 years project/process management experience

About this Position

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The Revenue Accounting and Valuation Manager is responsible for the accounting of the lifetime value of commission revenue recognized for the Company's Senior Health segment.  Responsibilities include developing the estimate for the lifetime value of commission revenue expected from the distribution of senior health insurance policies and the quarterly valuation of the renewal commission receivable recognized by the Company. In addition, this role will be responsible for administering the annual goodwill impairment analysis performed for the reporting unit and recognizing accounting entries for the amortization of acquisition-related intangible assets.  This role will also participate in the research of technical revenue recognition concepts for changes in contractual relationships or new product lines relating to the Company's products that recognize revenue in accordance with ASC 606.

Revenue recognition for Senior Health Segment - Operate the Senior Health segment's revenue recognition valuation model. Perform controls effectively to ensure completeness and accuracy of the data input into the model and the outputs used to prepare revenue journal entries. Use data analytics to identify trends in commission data to ensure revenue lifetime value estimates are appropriate and continuously enhance the effectiveness of the model.  Understand variances in activity and communicate results to executive management.  Coordinate processes across corporate and segment leadership teams to ensure proper revenue recognition accounting.  

Coordinate annual goodwill impairment analysis - Coordinate preparation of annual goodwill impairment analysis. Develop per unit lifetime value of commissions estimates and cash collection schedules. Document controls to assess the reasonableness of segment management's projected financial information. Collaborate with external specialists to determine key assumptions used to calculate the reporting unit's fair value.  Coordinate with external auditors to complete audit of the goodwill impairment process.                                                                                                

Accounting for intangible assets - Prepare the amortization entries for the intangible assets on a quarterly basis. Monitor the assets to determine if there are any triggering events that would require an adhoc impairment analysis. Complete monthly/quarterly account reconciliations to support the balances.

                                                                                               
Research Revenue Accounting Topics - Research technical revenue accounting concepts as they apply to the Company's Senior Health segment and other non-insurance contract product lines.  Help develop revenue recognition accounting policies for new or modified contracts with customers.  

                                                                                              
Assist in the preparation of revenue disclosures included in financial statements - Review the Company's revenue recognition disclosures in financial statements and provide feedback to ensure disclosures are appropriate and consistent with US GAAP. Contribute to the preparation of analytical explanations for revenue in the Company's Senior Health segment.     

Minimum Job Requirements and Qualifications                                                        

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, Data Science or related field 
• 4 – 5 years of work experience with  financial valuation and/or revenue recognition concepts
• Experience with the execution or testing of SOX 404 internal controls including the validation of the completeness and accuracy of data used to prepare valuation estimates
• Highly functional operating with data analytical tools including Microsoft Excel and Power BI 
• Ability to understand how data elements are used by algorithmic models
