Fixed Term Contract (January - July 2025) – Maternity Cover
We’re now seeking a Head of TLA, CPD & Digital TLA to be responsible for leading, delivering, managing processes and activities to improve teaching, learning and assessment, professional development, and promote the use of Digital technology across South Thames Colleges Group.
You will develop, track, and monitor robust systems and processes for teaching, learning & assessment (TLA), including close liaison with Group Managers and alignment to HR processes including observations and support processes. You will lead and coordinate the Group TLA processes and work closely with the TLA leads for each site, leading the TLA working group and ensuring all processes are fully implemented at all sites. You will create and update published various quality policies, procedures, and handbooks, including CPD and TLA paperwork, and oversee the development, maintenance, and resourcing of TLA & Digi Hubs at each site as a location to store equipment, deliver digital and TLA CPD, demonstrations and drop ins.
As Head of TLA, CPD & Digital TLA, you will lead and manage a team of Teaching and Learning Coaches to provide support and development to all teachers across the group as well as supporting the development of digital skills and digital pedagogy across the group.
This role would suit someone who is educated to degree level and who holds a recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE or DET. You will be an experienced teacher with evidence of outstanding practice and have experience of evaluating and improving the quality of teaching, learning and assessment. This will include observation practice and developing individual teachers and teams.
You will have the ability to design, implement and manage quality improvement and professional development guidance, systems, and processes across all learning provision, and have knowledge of how to evaluate and report on performance and impact. Knowledge of FE quality frameworks and legislation including OFSTED EIF; white papers is also essential.
This position will involve working at and travelling across all South Thames College Group sites.
