Assistant Family Support Worker

The posts are full time for 52 weeks a year and permanent although there is flexibility for part time hours and job sharing. Minimum of 20 hours per week over 4 days.
Families First Guildford delivers a joined-up offer of family resilience and safeguarding services for families with children 0 – 18 years (up to 25 years to support those with additional needs), based on a clear understanding of local needs across a district & borough.
We work across the borough of Guildford with two main sites at Guildford Nursery School, Hazel Avenue and at The Spinney, Park Barn.
As an Assistant Family Support Worker you will facilitate, in partnership with other practitioners and agencies, a range of outcome based family learning and parenting programmes. You will also hold a caseload of up to 9 families. We are currently seeing an increase in allocations due to children’s additional needs and the impact this can have on both home and school. As part of the role you will have be supporting the needs of these families.

1. Role and responsibilities of Local Committee Members
Whether a parent member, a general member, or a staff member, our Local Committee members bring valuable information from a variety of perspectives to help make strategic decisions about the school as a whole. The Local Committee is a committee of the trust board and should feel part of the wider structure we have in place for governance, to provide assurance to the trustee directors that every child in our schools is learning, achieving and flourishing in a safe environment.
The role of a LC member is largely a thinking and questioning role; they are not charged with the operational issues in managing a school day-to-day but are required to oversee its long term development in conjunction with the trust. Training and support are available for new and existing members and is free of charge.

We are a local After School Club based at a split-site school with Infants on one site and Juniors at another site. They are close together and based in Guildford. We are looking for a Job Coaches to join our friendly team at Guildford college. The successful candidates will support young people with SEND who are on the Employability programmes within the Learner with Learning Difficulties or Disabilities (LLDD) department.
As a Job Coach, you will be supporting and developing our students of all abilities to gain essential employability skills within our Learning Companies. We are on the lookout for a dynamic Quality Assurance Business Partner to become a part of our high performing Quality & Consistency team. This is a unique opportunity to coordinate, support, and review the implementation of standard QA processes across our faculties.
As a pivotal point of contact for curriculum staff on quality-related matters, you will also undertake the role of Quality Nominee whilst liaising with our partner Awarding Organisations.

The Role
The business administrator is expected to deliver their responsibilities efficiently and with integrity – showing a positive attitude. The business administrator is also expected to show initiative, managing priorities and own time, problem-solving skills, decision-making and the potential for people management responsibilities through mentoring or coaching others.

What is required (advancing key skills to support progression to management)
IT
Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.
Record and document production
Produces accurate records and documents including emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Draft correspondence, writes reports and is able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. We are seeking a proactive and positive Compliance and Estates Development Manager to ensure that our two schools are fully Health and Safety compliant, putting in place clear processes, systems and monitoring to ensure a safe and high-quality learning environment. The successful candidate will work with the senior leadership and premises teams to develop a long-term estates plan, maximizing our footprint and planning for resource alignment. They will ensure that all Health and Safety training and policy is up to date, and to ensure that all statutory checks are undertaken to schedule with clear record keeping. The post-holder will ensure compliance and estates best practice at both George Abbot School and Burpham Primary School, maximising economies of scale and efficiencies where possible.
This is a rewarding and varied role that is an essential part of the support service provided our schools. The post-holder must provide an efficient and high quality service, have excellent administrative skills, be competent manipulating data and record keeping, be organized and have a secure understanding of Health and Safety legislation.

St Peter’s is an extremely successful secondary school and Sixth Form set in attractive grounds on the outskirts of Guildford. We are looking to expand our Site Team and would like to appoint a School Caretaker to join our busy Premises Team. The School Caretaker supports the Site Manager with all aspects of site maintenance, safety, security, portering, minibus maintenance and cleanliness of the school.
The position is for 36 hours per week over 52 weeks a year with a minimum of 26 days holiday, plus bank holidays per year. Final working hours will be agreed with the successful candidate although some flexibility will be needed for opening/closing the site for evening and weekend events.
This is a very varied, interesting role and plays an integral part of the school’s support system. You will be representing the school when dealing with contractors, suppliers and lettings.
