Stores & Stock Control Assistant

A leading specialist equipment manufacturer require an experienced Stock Controller/Stores Person for their production facility. The primary focus for the role is to ensure a high level of inventory control both internally and throughout the company supply chain, to provide constant flow of components to manufacturing and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Entering details of all goods received onto the ERP system ensuring the items received match the purchase order, identifying and reporting discrepancies.
• Control of all stock parts from time of receipt through to distribution to stock, kits and works orders.
• Ensuring that all parts are adequately labelled, located, part numbered and logged.
• Picking kits of parts for manufacturing technicians
• Issue stock using ERP software.
• Perform stock checks as necessary to ensure stock counts match the ERP system.
• Packing parcels for despatch and ensuring shipping documentation is raised.
• Manual and mechanical handling of goods.
• General stores housekeeping and ensure the stores area is clean & tidy.
• Manual and mechanical handling of goods including forklift work as required.

Skills & Experience:

• Previous Stock Control and Stores/Warehouse experience
• MS office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Experience of ERP systems would be an advantage.
• High level of accuracy.
• Able to communicate and liaise effectively with people of all levels.
• Good English Language and Maths skills.
• A current counterbalance forklift truck licence would be an advantage but not essential

The Production Quality Engineer will:

• Maintain a 100% inspection level on all finished products leaving the production area
• Develop and run a strategic Goods Inwards QA inspection process
• Recording of all NCR's (Non-conformities) and development of associated reporting structure to enable QA related issues to be clearly identified, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner
• Clear communication of all QA related issues, both internally and externally
• Review and develop task specific work instructions in conjunction with Product development and Production support
• Conduct periodic reviews of shop floor work instructions
• Support the Purchasing Team / Supplier Quality Engineer
• Feedback of quality data to Production Teams by means of regular meetings to include Team Leaders and Supervisors, highlighting areas for improvement

The Production Quality Engineer will have:

• Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree preferred, or ONC, A Levels, BTEC Diploma Level 4 or equivalent NVQ. Level 4 qualification
• Minimum of five years previous experience in similar role within a fast-moving production environment
• Computer literate in MS Office and Adobe software as well as SAP.
• Experience with QMS procedures
• Problem solving skills such as 6S or 8D.
• Understanding and experience of robust QA procedures
• Strong knowledge and application of FAIR, PPAP & FMEA.
• Knowledge of ISO9000
• Understanding of ISO14001 and Health and Safety practices

• Apprenticeship and/or Degree (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline would be beneficial.

• Responsible for problems associated with your supplier scope and conducting root cause analysis to determine long and short-term solutions in a timely manner and escalating issues as appropriate.

This position will offer the candidate £21.88 per hour.

Skills and experience required.

• Apprentice and/or Degree (or equivalent) in a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering discipline would be beneficial.
• Experience in Original Equipment Manufacturing / OEM's/
• Language skills would be an advantage to support international supplier contacts.
• A strong knowledge of Manufacturing processes, production quality control methods and systems, quality management systems, tools, and maturation processes.
• An Ability to take ownership of problems and find solutions, with the confidence to make and enforce decisions within pressurised situations.
