Duties:

The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Health Systems Specialist (Credentialing and Privileging Manager). They oversee all functions related to healthcare providers' professional credentials supporting all divisions of the VA Medical Center (VAMC). The Incumbent is responsible for working collaboratively with local and VISN leadership to identify and/or implement best practices and advising VAMC leadership of all program requirements pertaining to the C&P program. Duties of the ICC Chief:

The Associate Chief of Staff for Rehabilitation, Extended Care, and Diagnostics (REC-D) Integrated Clinical Community (ICC) Service provides oversight of clinical and non-clinical staff and operations across a variety of locations including the main medical center and Community Based Outpatient Clinics. The incumbent is ultimately responsible for overall REC-D ICC clinical and administrative operations. Duties include but are not limited to:

This position functions as the ADP/Computer Literacy Education Coordinator responsible to develop and present training products/courses associated with all Education Programs and Projects facility wide. Major Duties:
The incumbent is responsible for the operation and supervision of the carpenter shop, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of infrastructure systems which serve the entire Medical Center and SCBOC. Infrastructure systems includes, but is not limited to carpentry, locks, door's hardware, fire and smoke barrier doors, windows, masonry, walls, flooring, ceiling, roofs, light pulps, light switches, light outlets, and cove base. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating and managing in house construction projects. Oversee maintenance, repair and installations of carpentry millwork, suspended ceiling systems, masonry walls, sheet rock walls, cover base, doors, windows, locks, doors hardware, locking mechanisms, tile flooring, ceramic flooring, carpeting, fire proffering, stairs, concrete work, taping, compounding, and roofing systems. Nature of Supervisory Responsibility:

Incumbent is the foreman of the Plumbing Shop, which consists of pipefitting, and plumbing staff. The plumbing Shop is part of the Maintenance and Repair Section of Engineering Service. Incumbent reports directly to the Maintenance and Repair Section Chief and has the Assistant Chief as second level supervisor. He/she has the responsibility for effective and efficient operation and maintenance of all gas systems and equipment, such as steam heating, steam generation, and vacuum systems, radiators, and circulation pumps, sewerage system, all pressure steam systems and associated parts, hot water generators, sterilizers, heating systems, fire suppression systems, pneumatic tube system, natural gas, medical gases and non-medical equipment. S/He must be able to lay out and install various kinds of piping, risers, and flexible branches at the proper level and incline; determine the placement and elevation and install steam generators, vacuum and condensate pumps, and radiators; and replace heat exchangers, flash and expansion tanks, and automatic and manual control valves. The installation, maintenance, and repair of all aforementioned equipment falls within their purview.

Responsible for independently diagnosing, planning, and completing projects or work orders involving major systems in the entirety. He/she must show proficiency with the work order system and report on metrics such as preventive maintenance completion, corrective maintenance turnaround time, and adherence to documentation of services standards.

Planning:
Incumbent is responsible to coordinate work with all care/service/departments in the Medical Center and outside service vendors, contractors, and other service companies/agencies. Advance planning to eliminate unnecessary loss of service to patient areas; this would curtail patient care of result in serious discomfort to the entire Medical Center/CLC.
Work Direction:
During times of heavy workload or special projects, incumbent is required to coordinate and work with carpenters, painters, AC mechanics, electronic mechanics, maintenance mechanics, etc. Incumbent may be required to assist these employees in their trades.
Administration:
The incumbent of this position supports and explains management programs, recommends performance ratings, training, and changes in performance standards. The incumbent will advise and counsel workers on new work techniques appropriate for their specific trade, advise and counsel workers, investigate grievances and complaints and informally resolve.

Incumbent uses dollies to move heavy objects, however, may lift and carry heavy objects (up to 100 pounds). Must be capable of working out problems safely when moving material to and from job sites using his initiative to expedite the work. Considerable standing, stooping, and bending. The incumbent must be in good physical condition, capable of responding to emergency situations. Must be capable of accessing all equipment locations in the Medical Center and controls as needed, and be able to do any necessary bending, lifting, walking, climbing and other strenuous physical movements required by an AC mechanic, plumber, pipefitter, maintenance worker, and locksmith. The campus layout of this Medical Center requires walking considerable distances due to the proximity of buildings.

Incumbent is required to work indoors and outdoors, sometimes in areas subject to extreme heat or cold. Will be exposed to dust, dirt and chips generated by working with the required masonry materials. A portion of the supervisor's work is performed in an office environment, however, when required to operate and/or perform repairs, the incumbent must be alert to the life-threating hazards of handling high pressure steam, improper sanitation by waste removal, use of highly combustible or explosive materials and gases, working in high temperature confined areas and the use of highly toxic agents. The incumbent may be exposed to dust, dirt, soot and noise in the performance of duties. Veterans rely on the skills of these professionals to keep patient areas clean and safe by addressing spills quickly, discarding trash, installing light bulbs in halls and rooms, and vacuuming and polishing floors.

Duties include cleaning wards, patient rooms, storerooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, shower rooms, and other areas. HKA-EVS Technicians sweep, mop, scrub (machine) floors, vacuum carpets and upholstered furniture, empty waste baskets, clean light globes and Venetian blinds, wash walls, windows and ceilings by climbing small ladders, refill toilet tissue and towel dispensers and move furniture. HKA-EVS Technicians carry out assignments with minimal supervision.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Provides advanced or detailed patient assessment, conducting systematic physical examination to determine treatment methods used which may include invasive procedures, electro cardiology procedures, advanced and invasive airway procedures and administers medications and solutions orally or intravenously.
• Controls and extinguishes fires, operates hose lines, makes forced entries, ventilates structures, performs or assists in rescue operations, uses a variety of hand tools, hydraulic tools and portable fire extinguishers.
• Drives and operates motorized firefighting and rescue vehicles.
• Performs hazardous materials response such as stops or controls release, employs hazard and risk assessment techniques.
• Assists in incident critiques and debriefings.
• Prepares incident reports and documentation.
• Performs daily preventative maintenance inspections of apparatus and equipment.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
