Public Contact Work 25%
Receives, schedules, refers, and contacts members of the staff, agency, and persons outside the agency ranging from other government agencies to the general public. Regularly involved in high-level contacts with visitors and callers for other organizations and activities. Receives telephone calls and greets visitors to the office. Uses judgement and initiative to screen or refer as appropriate. Screens callers/visitors by ascertaining name, affiliation, and purpose of call/visit, and based upon subject matter, determines whether information can be supplied personally. Obtains needed background information before referring calls to supervisor, and uses independent judgement in referring, initiating, or disposing of inquiries and requests. Clerical Duties 30%
Processes incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, reports, memoranda, letters and other forms of written communication. Performs the following types of duties: editing and composition of letters and reports, reviews correspondence for accuracy and completeness, prepares public presentations, and develops standard or form letters and replies to inquiries. Provides general clerical mail and correspondence services such as preparing a variety of recurring reports, reviewing outgoing correspondence for proper attachments, or consolidating/coordinating submittals of information. Major Duties:
Physical Security Support: Performs alarm and access monitoring, tracing access patterns, programming, assigning or removing user permissions, updating databases, remotely opening and securing doors during routine and emergency operations and generating a variety of reports as needed. Communications (Dispatcher): The position monitors and receives routine and emergency calls from a variety of sources that need police, fire, medical or other emergency services. Determines the nature and location of the emergency; prioritizes events and commits police resources appropriately; determines what notifications are necessary based upon event type, makes such notifications and coordinates follow-up communications. Receives and process emergency calls, maintains contact with law enforcement units on assignment, maintains status and location of Police Officers and coordinates communication between agencies as needed. The Lead Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (CV/Interventional) operates within the Department of Vascular Surgery independently and without direct supervision as the technologist responsible for the coordination and performance of angiographic procedures, complex vascular, non-vascular and therapeutic procedures. These exams are performed with and without contrast materials. The purpose of these exams is to achieve diagnostic studies so that proper diagnosis and treatment will be delivered.

Major duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assist to maintain control of the Vascular Interventional Department by coordinating, organizing, executing the work potential for expediting workflow patterns within the department. Organizes in-service meetings, ordering of new equipment and supplies, trains all new technologist, creates procedure schedules, assist in the operative planning for patients, scheduling of exams and procedures, conducts morning huddles, assigns workflow to ensure proper staffing for procedures schedule in the IR or Operating Room, coordinates with Vendors for supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Performs procedures within the Diagnostic and Interventional section which require the use of needles, syringes, catheters, balloons, stents, isovue, Omnipaque and other contrast mediums. The radiographer must have knowledge of these contrast mediums and know their effects and adverse reactions. Improper use or administration of the contrast can run the risk of patient mortality; therefore, it is essential that a thorough understanding of usage be possessed by those who prepare it. Must continuously be alert to the patient's condition and other disorders. Adverse reactions on the part of the patient require immediate attention so that harm does not come to the patient or equipment. Incumbent works closely with the other technologists, radiologists, clinicians, and clerical staff to assure optimum quality control, efficient coordination of activities, high quality diagnostic exam results, and patient satisfaction are achieved.
• Performs as a scrub technologist or circulating technologist while assisting the Vascular Surgeon and have knowledge of sterile technique. Depending on the procedure can recognize allergic reactions and initiate CPR (cardiovascular resuscitation). Properly applies pressure/dressing to avoid hematoma formation after interventional studies. Has knowledge of vascular systems and major vessels. Technologist is knowledgeable in the use of the specialized equipment employed for digital subtraction systems and Interventional procedures.
• Ensures that all documentation required for the completion of exams is done in VISTA/CPRS. The radiographer must be certain patient identification and requests are identical. Validates all images and corrects incorrect information prior to sending to VISTA for interpretation by the Radiologist. If deletion from Vista is required, the proper documentation must be presented for the deletion of images from the medical record through the supervisor or PACS/ADPAC Coordinator.
• Continuously works to develop a cohesive and effective team with other areas of the entire facility to expedite quality patient care.
• Maximize efficiency in the number of exams performed without compromising the quality of patient care.
