Clinical Support - The TCT assists in patient care under the direct supervision of an independent licensed healthcare provider. The TCT can be crossed-trained to perform a range of direct care duties that may include, but are not limited to such things as performing temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation measurements, measuring height and weight, downloading pictures for any Store n Forward clinic and for the Dermatology clinic, phlebotomy (blood draws), EKG's and patient transfers in support of the primary care, specialty, urgent care clinics etc .. The Deputy Chief of Quality Management (QM) executes leadership that is characterized by substantial and continuous responsibility and accountability for population groups or integrated programs that cross services and/or discipline lines and, influence the organizational healthcare mission.

The Deputy Chief of QM is a self-directed nursing professional who supervises QM staff, assesses plans, implements, coordinates, monitors and evaluates the quality and safety of the delivery of care for the organization. The Deputy Chief of QM oversees monitoring of corrective actions from survey findings and assists services who are performance outliers. Responsible for completing clinical quality reviews, clinical data analysis, and identifying opportunities for improvement. This includes providing clinical and administrative recommendations relative to all Strategic Analytic Improvement Learning (SAIL) outcomes, External Peer Review Program (EPRP) metrics, and driving improvement initiatives within the medical center.

The Deputy Chief of QM collaborates with the Survey Coordinator for the coordination of accreditation readiness activities focused on standards compliance, education of staff on standards, VHA requirements, and customer satisfaction for internal and external stakeholders. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Core elements of performance include knowledge and active participation in unit/program level quality improvement processes and initiatives as well as customer service programs. Leads QM staff through performance evaluations, provide guidance and support on culture changes, and change management projects.

The Deputy Chief of QM supports all QM work to include but not limited to Accreditation, System Redesign, Infection Prevention, Patient Safety, Risk Management, High Reliability Organization (HRO), Just Culture, and evidence-based practices.

The Advanced MSA provides specialized and expert administrative patient support while working collaboratively in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model. The central boiler plant consists of 4 multi-fuel water tube and 3 fire tube high pressure boilers ranging from 200 H.P. -900 H.P. The boiler plant is controlled and monitored by a highly complex DDC computerized burner management and monitoring system. The incumbent operates, maintains and modifies to optimize efficiency and energy­-savings, while maintaining safety & environmental functions at proper levels for patient care and other facility operations. The incumbent shall be responsible for operation, preventive maintenance, testing and calibrating of highly complex boiler control.

Work shall involve the full range of duties required to operate one or more utility systems of extremely large capacity and flexibility such as multi-fuel boilers that have output ranges of 7,500 to 100,000 pounds of steam per hour. This includes lighting off, monitoring, controlling, securing and maintaining these power boilers and associated auxiliary and pollution control equipment. • Performs law enforcement assignments to prevent or resolve offenses: books the accused; takes the accused before the appropriate District Court or magistrate; confers with the prosecutors; appears before the grand jury upon request; appears at preliminary hearings; and/or testifies at trial, if needed.
• Responds to reports of a crime in progress and/or calls for police assistance.
• Initiates appropriate actions to pursue and apprehend offenders who are leaving the scene of a crime or who attempts to resist arrest. Subdues individuals causing disturbances. Identifies and arrests violators based on eyewitness accounts. Takes charge at crime scenes restricting access to only those persons required to be present.
• Performs bomb search functions as required. Coordinates such search activities with the local bomb squad.
• Assists in managing the Security Program for the Medical Center/Health Care System which ensures that individuals requiring access have been vetted.
• Collects information and prepares reports on the facilities compliance with VA operations, regulations Physical Security and Physical Access Control Systems (PACs).
• Meets with key customers and coordinates with officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolve problems that arise.
• Develops various physical security-related documents, spreadsheets, graphs, reports and presentations using various automated systems and software packages, including the Veterans Health Information and Technology Architecture (VistA) System, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint to enter, access and retrieve information in the medical center computer system.
• Maintains a Physical Security Tracking report to ensure physical security surveys are followed up promptly.
• Monitors and evaluates existing present and planned security projects to ensure timely and quality service conforms to statutory, contractual and technical requirements.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

This position is multidisciplinary and maybe filled as a Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, or a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor, at the Program Manager/Coordinator level.

Serves as a Supervisory Social Worker RCS Vet Center Director (VCD) and is responsible for the professional and administrative supervision and oversight of all readjustment counseling, outreach, referrals and follow-up care coordination services provided to eligible individuals within the designated Vet Center Service Area (VSA).

• The VCD supervises both professional and nonprofessional staff including a multi-disciplinary team of social work and other mental health professionals of various performance levels who work in multiple locations (Vet Centers, Vet Center Outstations and Community Access Points) and in communities distance from the Vet Center through planned outreach, often in conjunction with a Mobile Vet Center
• VCD is responsible for Administrative & outreach staff service functions, ensuring that the needs of individuals in their VSA are met
• The Supervisory Social Worker oversees the fiscal, contractual and operational obligations of the community-based Vet Center
• VCD leads with coordination and briefing during meetings with Congressional representatives and their staff
• Leads in Planning, establishing and implementing Vet Center policies and procedures, developing staff goals and objectives, monitoring, coordinating and evaluating the work of all Vet Center Staff, including Social Workers, other Hybrid Title 38 Mental Health Professionals, Title 5 Readjustment Counselors, outreach workers and Program Support Assistants
• Provides direct readjustment counseling services within and outside of the Vet Center to include in-person and virtual services
• Perform other duties as assigned

2.2. Includes the patient and family/significant other in developing the initial plan of care and establishing goals.
2.3. Updates plan of care with assistance as needed.
2.4. Assesses patient's learning needs, learning preference and readiness to learn.
2.5. Develops and implements a plan in conjunction with the patient/family to meet learning needs, and involvement in basic health teaching and discharge planning.

3. Documents the nursing process.
3.1. Documentation is consistent, accurate, concise, and timely.
3.2. Evaluates and documents patient response to interventions and progress towards attainment of goals and expected outcomes.
3.3. Revises plan of care according to evaluations of patient's responses and outcomes.
3.4. Uses the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) and the Bar Coded Medication Administration (BCMA) software per policy.
3.5 Completes all assigned clinical reminders in a timely manner.

4. Demonstrates grade-appropriate and consistent critical thinking skills.
