We are a provider of homes for rent (social and affordable), shared ownership, outright sale, and supported housing. We also have a small portfolio of commercial properties and garages. Our Multi Trade Operatives are critical to deliver a consistently good service. Our multi trade operatives possess a single recognisable base trade qualification, issued by an accredited training association/body (City and Guilds, NVQ level 2) or relevant evidential experience in either Carpentry or Plumbing together with additional skills (qualified or demonstrable acquired skill and knowledge) in one or more of the following: painting and decorating, plastering, Ceramic Tiling, Ground Works, Glazing/UPVC Windows, Ground Works. A
s an experienced Multi Trade Operative you will support us to provide a high quality and cost-effective service to deliver general repairs and maintenance improvements to properties of Wandle customers.
A day in the life:
To carry out multi skilled duties, primarily as a Multi Trade Operative, to Wandle’s customers. The role requires to possess a single recognisable base trade qualification, issued by an accredited training association/body (City and Guilds, NVQ level 2) or relevant evidential experience in either Carpentry or Plumbing together with more than one of the following additional skills.
Painting and decorating (qualified or demonstrable acquired skill and knowledge)
Undertake patch repair to plaster by hacking off defective plaster and renew including all preparation and joints to existing surfaces
Prepare walls and hang lining paper, woodchip or anaglypta up to 20m2
Rub down and prepare walls, ceilings, woodwork and other painted surfaces to receive gloss or emulsion paint.
Plastering (qualified or demonstrable acquired skill and knowledge)
Undertake patch repair to plaster by hacking off defective plaster and renew including all preparation and joints to existing surfaces
Fix plasterboard to walls, scrim joints and skim finishing plaster to walls or ceilings
Ceramic Tiling (qualified or demonstrable acquired skill and knowledge)
Wall tiles clean off fix new ceramic tiles to splashback, cills with adhesive, grout, cut and form straight edge or edge strips.
Floor tiles hack off ceramic tiles clear away and lay new floor tiles ton and including cement and sand bed, grout tiles and all necessary cutting.
Glazing/UPVC Windows (qualified or demonstrable acquired skill and knowledge).
Reglaze single pane glass, hack out and glaze with putty, sprigs clips or beads at any level, touch up and decoration to match existing.
Ground Works (qualified or demonstrable acquired skill and knowledge)
Fencing, renew softwood rails, replace pcc or timber posts, renew rails, vertical boards, and gravel boards.
Walls, rebuild lay new common bricks in half brick wall bedded and pointed.
Manhole renew 1.35mm deep to invert level in semi engineering bricks 225mm thick concrete base 100mm thick reinforced pcc cover slab cover with frame complete.
Undertake all works in a safe manner and in accordance with the risk assessments and training provided. If you are in any doubts regarding your safety or those of others, you must refrain from undertaking any works and seek advice from your RSM.

Experience in social housing or be able to demonstrate experience of assessing trade jobs to then identify and implement solutions.
A recognised trade qualification within one of the trades for example, plumbing, electrician, carpentry, plastering or decorating.
Possess a broad range of skills to ensure the majority of response repairs are completed on first visit.
Have good level of numeracy and literacy
Have excellent customer service skills
Have effective communication skills, both oral and written
Be reliable, thorough and able to meet deadlines
Be punctual ensuring you are on time to your first job
Be self-motivated, assertive and confident
You will have basic I.T skills and be able to operate a PDA system, view and record jobs and respond to emails.
Hold a full, clean UK driving license.
