About the role:
Activate Learning are recruiting for a Health and Social Care professional who is keen to pass on their knowledge and give something back by instructing others in their area of expertise.
If you have experience working within a nursing, clinical, health or social care background, this could be an ideal opportunity for you to begin your teaching career. Alternatively, this could be an excellent opportunity for an experienced teacher to join us in developing our BTEC and T- Level provision.
As a Health and Social Care or T-Level Health Teacher, you will support our existing teaching team in delivering purposeful, yet exciting practical and theory lessons to a diverse group of learners. Our state-of-the-art Care Skills Training Centres at each of our campuses also provides our students with a unique opportunity to practice and refine their skills in preparation for clinical industry placements and future employment, find out more here. This is a permanent, full-time role based at our City of Oxford College campus.
What do you need to be a successful Health and Social Care Teacher at Activate Learning?
We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work. A genuine interest in working with and developing young people is a requirement.
Whilst previous teaching experience or qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications to teach on our Health and Social Care courses and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.
Level 3 or above qualification and experience in Health and Social Care sector is essential
Experience as a qualified nurse or health professional is desirable, but not essential
Current member of NMC or another relevant body is desirable
It is desirable if you have a teaching qualification and worked within education as a teacher, but this is not essential
Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver interesting and purposeful lessons to a diverse range of learners. You will also have strong organisation skills coupled with the ability to prioritise workloads and will benefit from being part of a supportive team, working in a varied and interesting role with a variety of opportunities for career development.
