We are excited to recruit an experienced healthcare leader to join UCLH as General Manager for Head & Neck and Thoracic Surgery. This is a pivotal role within a fast-paced department. As a senior member of the management team, you proactively identify and drive improvement opportunities. This work will cover a wide range of services and challenges in the inpatient and outpatient settings, within our medical and administrative teams. You will operationally lead the delivery of urgent cancer care across the North Central London and North East London Cancer Networks.

Service Improvement
Drive continuous service improvements to ensure high-quality care, strong financial performance, and efficient delivery. Collaborate with senior leaders to meet national targets and lead strategic projects.

Cancer and RTT Performance
Lead performance management for Head & Neck and Thoracic surgery, ensuring all internal and external performance targets are met. Embed learning from breaches.

Financial Management
Manage service budgets, ensuring optimal resource use and maintaining financial control. Monitor financial and performance targets, addressing variances and coordinating with other budget holders. Identify CIP and revenue opportunities, and lead the cost pressure processes.

Stakeholder Engagement
Collaborate with partners in NCL/NEL, chair meetings, and ensure SLAs and job planning are aligned to improve patient pathways and experience.

The Medical Specialties Division is looking to recruit a full time Administration Coordinator to work in the administration team supporting the Dermatology Team.

The postholder will have a degree of autonomy to ensure that deadlines are met and a proactive approach is taken to day-to-day management of organising patient pathways maximising Trust’s resources and to meet NHS waiting time standards.

The postholder will have key working relationships with all members of the administrative and clinical teams including medical staff, allied health professionals and support workers. We have great opportunities for enthusiastic and dynamic, suitably qualified Physiotherapists to join and help lead the Musculoskeletal (MSK) Outpatient Physiotherapy service at University College Hospital (UCH).

The successful candidate will be working alongside other senior clinicians to help co-ordinate and evaluate the MSK Physiotherapy service with opportunities to advance and progress service development. You will have the chance to work alongside the wider surgical, medical and nursing teams to help contribute to and shape the delivery of a high quality, efficient and effective MSK outpatient service.

You will work to the highest standards to facilitate evidence-informed patient care, playing a key role in implementing, facilitating and developing physiotherapy best practice in line with local and national guidelines.

Your caseload will be a mix of orthopaedic and rheumatology patients including those with complex chronic musculoskeletal conditions, fractures, post-op rehabilitation and sports injuries and you will therefore be expected to have previous MSK experience at Band 6 level including Orthopaedic (fracture/upper and lower limb post op and conservative management) and Rheumatology patients. Ideal candidates will have a range of manual, communication, clinical reasoning and rehabilitative skills appropriate to the caseload and will be expected to provide an accountable, high quality physiotherapy service. A knowledge of hydrotherapy would be advantageous.

You should demonstrate evidence of ongoing CPD, knowledge of current legislation, good interpersonal, communication and clinical skills and the ability to work in a flexible manner. As a skilled clinician and leader, you will be able to prove your ability to assist in the education, training and supervision of less experienced physiotherapy staff as well as other allied health and medical colleagues.

Allied to your clinical work will be managerial and administrative duties, which may include the operational management of the UCH hydrotherapy pool and rehabilitation groups. You will have responsibility for supervising and appraising junior staff and for mentoring student physiotherapists. You will be well supported in all your roles by our Senior Leadership Team which consists of Heads of Service, Consultant Physiotherapists, Clinical Specialists and other Band 7 Therapists.

The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery provides neurological and neurosurgical services on a regional, national and international basis. The neuroscience critical care unit is a 28 bedded unit with approximately 850-950 admissions a year of which 35-40% are planned elective admissions. We provide care for neurology, acute stroke and neurosurgical patients, in one of the largest dedicated neurocritical care facilities in the UK. There is excellent senior support 24/7 for the unit, with two daily ward rounds by ICU consultants and a dedicated anaesthetic registrar to help with airway management, line placement and training, and other out-of-hours intensive care issues. There are opportunities to be involved with teaching, MDT simulation sessions, clinical governance and quality improvement projects to strengthen portfolios for applications for training posts, as well as developing technical skills and competencies in Intensive Care Medicine. The successful applicant will join a team of 17 doctors, including HEE trainees from various specialities (ICM, IMT and neurosurgery), Clinical Fellows (ST1+), CESR ICM fellows and senior neuroanaesthesia fellows (ST5+) as part of an EWTD compliant full shift rota. This post is a remunerated as a locally employed doctor in line with the 2016 terms and conditions of service.

There are weekly MDT neurocritical care meetings to discuss patients with neurologists, neurosurgeons, clinical psychologists and AHP. The monthly M&M meetings include interesting learning cases where decision making, and ethical dilemmas are discussed. There is a formal weekly educational programme, consisting of consultant/senior delivered teaching, journal club, as well as informal bedside teaching, tea trolley teaching, in situ MDT simulation and a CVC simulation course for the junior clinical fellows. The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgeryprovides neurological and neurosurgical services on a regional, national and international basis. The neuroscience critical care unit is a 28 bedded unit with approximately 850-950 admissions a year of which 35-40% are planned elective admissions. We provide care for neurology, acute stroke and neurosurgical patients, in one of the largest dedicated neurocritical care facilities in the UK. There is excellent senior support 24/7 for the unit, with two daily ward rounds by ICU consultants and a dedicated anaesthetic registrar to help with airway management, line placement and training, and other out-of-hours intensive care issues. There are opportunities to be involved with teaching, MDT simulation sessions, clinical governance and quality improvement projects to strengthen portfolios for applications for training posts, as well as developing technical skills and competencies in Intensive Care Medicine. The successful applicant will join a team of 17 doctors, including HEE trainees from various specialities (ICM, IMT and neurosurgery), Clinical Fellows (ST1+), CESR ICM fellows and senior neuroanaesthesia fellows (ST5+) as part of an EWTD compliant full shift rota. This post is a remunerated as a locally employed doctor in line with the 2016 terms and conditions of service.

There are weekly MDT neurocritical care meetings to discuss patients with neurologists, neurosurgeons, clinical psychologists and AHP. The monthly M&M meetings include interesting learning cases where decision making, and ethical dilemmas are discussed. There is a formal weekly educational programme, consisting of consultant/senior delivered teaching, journal club, as well as informal bedside teaching, tea trolley teaching, in situ MDT simulation and a CVC simulation course for the junior clinical fellows. You will be enthusiastic and highly motivated to drive the Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Service forward in line with local and national guidelines. Working with other senior members of the multidisciplinary therapy team, you will ensure a well-coordinated, flexible and responsive service for patients and stakeholders. Working to the highest standards, you will facilitate patient care and support and train our highly committed teams of physiotherapy staff.

You will carry a complex trauma & orthopaedic caseload, and take the lead role in the delivery, co-ordination and evaluation of the physiotherapy service for this area. You will lead an inpatient service committed to the principles of Enhanced Recovery, and the pre-assessment service. You will be responsible for supervision, education and appraisal of other team members including Band 5 & 6 Physiotherapists, and therapy support workers.

You must have significant post-registration experience, with experience at Band 6 level in relevant clinical settings. You will be supported to develop clinical and managerial skills at Band 7 level by the Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy Lead.
• To undertake a significant complex clinical caseload of patients who have undergone orthopaedic surgery in both elective and trauma settings.
• To develop, clinically and strategically, the Trauma and Orthopaedic Physiotherapy service with guidance from T&O Inpatient Therapy Lead, working closely with the MDT, Surgical Specialties Matron, Orthopaedic General Manager, Senior Therapy Team, Acute Therapies Services Manager and Professional lead for Physiotherapy to implement directorate and Trust objectives in line with national guidelines.
• To provide skilled day-to-day leadership in planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the therapy service at UCLH.
• To undertake/lead evidence-based audit and research projects within the Directorate, including recommendations for change in practice to the Therapy Service management team and the Directorate, assisting in the implementation of specific changes to practice including policy changes and service protocols.

The Department of Haematology at UCLH is seeking a Specialist Registrar-level (ST3+) Senior Clinical Fellow to join our team in February 2025.

UCLH is one of the largest haematology units in Europe with >100 dedicated inpatient beds in a purpose-built building which opened in 2022. The successful applicant will join a team of >30 haematology registrars who are supervised by >50 haematology consultants covering the entire range of malignant, non-malignant and experimental haematology. The postholder will also participate in the wider haematology on call rota and gain experience in the management of haematological emergencies and liaison haematology.

Applicants should have completed SHO-level training (minimum 4 years postgraduate clinical experience) in internal medicine and/or be an established haematology registrar. The posts are suitable for post-IMT trainees who wish to gain haematology experience in order to secure an NTN, or for existing haematology trainees to gain a consultant post.

We also welcome applications from:
- current UK trainees who are looking to undertake an OOPE or OOPT to broaden their clinical experience.
- suitably qualified haematology doctors who are looking to pursue GMC specialist registration via the CESR route

We can offer in-depth, longer-term clinical and laboratory experience to fulfil the requirements of the UK haematology curriculum.

Senior clinical fellow posts cover both inpatients, day care and outpatients on a rotational basis, with numerous opportunities to develop sub-specialty interests. Available posts include bone marrow transplantation, CAR T-cell therapy, haemoglobinopathies, clotting, TTP, laboratory haematology and malignant haematology. The duration of the post is 6 months in the first instance which is extendable to a year or more. The fellow will take part in the on-call rota with prospective cover. The post holder must be flexible and prepared to cover the clinical needs of the service on a day-to-day basis.

The training and education opportunities are identical to those of haematology SpRs-in-training and we will support relevant courses for candidate’s education and training in discussion with their consultant educational supervisor. There is a strong team approach in a well-supported environment and an emphasis on multi-disciplinary team working and well-being. As a research-active department, there are innumerable opportunities to get involved in clinical research and work towards presenting work at a national or international conference.

The appointee should hold MRCP or equivalent and hold full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC.

Are you interested in working as a Health Care Assistant in the specialist area of Dermatology? If yes, then this could be the job for you. We are currently looking for band 3 health care assistants to join our nursing team. Dermatology at ULCH is a very busy, ever growing outpatient department caring for patients with chronic skin disease and skin cancer.

Part of this role includes working in theatres supporting doctors with minor ops and, with training, supporting the team with more complex surgery. You will be given the opportunity to learn and develop within this role and will have access to site based training.

You will have or be working towards an NVQ level 3 in care or the equivalent clinical experience and an interest in caring for patients with chronic skin disease.

Are you looking to enhance your current clinical skills whilst beginning the process of developing into becoming a senior nursing leader? We are looking for band 6 senior staff nurses to join an enthusiastic and motivated T08 Team who are taking on a new and exciting challenge. T08 is a busy 43-bedded acute medical ward with a diverse mix of acuity and complexity of patients. It specialises in Infectious Diseases, Respiratory Medicine and Rheumatology. Due to an expansion of the existing unit we are looking for staff that are keen to develop and enhance their clinical skills whilst working as part of our team as we strive to continually improve our patient experience and the care we provide.

T08 ward is led by two Ward Sister’s and 4 Deputies. Staff work across the whole floor and across all specialities. There are two sides to the ward; the north side is predominately bay beds and the south side consists predominantly of side rooms. The T08 side rooms are Negative Pressure therefore we care for patients with a range of infections including TB, potential VHF and infections in returning travellers, and additionally provides the inpatient service to the Hospital for Tropical Diseases. Within the Respiratory bed base T08 cares for patients who have an acute respiratory condition and may require Non-Invasive Ventilation and those who have Tracheostomies.

T08 prides itself on a strong and supportive Multi-disciplinary Team and staff have the opportunity to work with specialist Consultants and Specialist Nurses who are leading experts in their fields. Our focus is always to provide the best possible patient care and our team values reflect those of the Trust: Safety, Kindness, Teamwork and Improving.

T08 is interested in your career development where ever that path may take you. You will have the opportunity to attend study days within specialist areas and complete further education courses if you wish. Courses that we support staff with on the ward include a HDU course and the Diploma in Tropical Nursing.

We require a minimum of one year experience as a band 5 in an acute hospital inpatient setting.
