UCLH hosts one of Europe’s largest Haematology services in Europe with a 98-bed inpatient unit spread across the recently opened Grafton Way Building and UCLH Tower. The service is nationally and internationally recognised for delivering specialist care for patients with blood cancers such as leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, including those undergoing stem cell transplantation, as well as patients with other blood diseases such as sickle cell disease and rare thrombotic conditions. The team is made up of over 150 inpatient nursing staff, approximately 50 consultants, 30 junior doctors, 30 administrators and a large multidisciplinary team of expert support staff. The size of the service has allowed the formation of highly-specialised disease-specific teams who are able to provide expert care 24/7, as well as a leadership role across the sector in areas such as CAR T, TTP and Red Cell services. We have an extensive clinical trials portfolio, supported by a wide range of research programmes through close academic links with UCLH.

We have an exciting opportunity for a fixed term Service Manager post within the Clinical Haematology team. The post-holder will mainly be responsible for the management of a clinical team’s administrative staff, which includes Team leaders and pathway coordinators and facilitating an excellent, high-quality service for our patients.

The post-holder is expected to support the senior management team with Cancer Waiting Times and 18 Weeks RTT Management while ensuring the team’s administrative standards are met. The postholder will also be responsible for supporting the delivery of a number of outpatient transformation projects.

This role demands excellent communication and administration skills, a strong capacity for managing a workload independently, a pro-active and creative approach, and an ability to be flexible and learn new skills quickly. We are looking for an individual that is self-disciplined and can motivate others. Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive information and managing organizational change is highly desirable. A high level of computer literacy is essential.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Headache Nurse Specialist to join the renowned Headache and Facial Pain Group for the episodic service at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.

The headache and facial pain team provide a national tertiary service to patients with complex and chronic headache presentations. We are establishing a new episodic service, aimed at providing specialised care for patients experiencing episodic headaches including CGRP monoclonal antibody antagonist therapy.



Our service is expanding, and we are looking for a dynamic and experienced nurse to join our headache nursing team. The post holder will work alongside and collaborate with a multidisciplinary group of experts to provide top-tier headache care including consultants, headache nurses, psychologists, neurosurgeons and other medical colleagues. You will be expected to exercise a high degree of professional autonomy and to make critical judgements using specialist knowledge; you will provide the highest standard of holistic patient care for patients with headache disorders. You will have responsibility for assessing patients and subsequently devising, implementing and assessing an individual's comprehensive Headache management plan.

The post holder will need to work closely with the headache nursing team, consultant neurologists and health colleagues within primary and secondary care, social care and voluntary agencies, contributing to and implementing care for people with headache.

A background in neurology and/or neurosurgery is essential. Whilst previous headache experience is desirable, training, support and development will be provided

Supervision is available from the Lead Headache Nurse and the rest of headache nursing team.

This post is a cross site role based at both the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) in London and Epilepsy Society - Chalfont, in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, UK.
The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery is the largest division within the Specialist Hospitals Board of the University College Hospital Foundation NHS Trust. NHNN is an internationally renowned hospital for clinical practice and world-class clinical research in neurosciences. It is also closely associated with the Institute of Neurology (ION). Together, NHNN and ION are regarded as the premier neurosciences centre in the UK. In addition to Neurology and Neurosurgery, the NHNN provides comprehensive services in Neuro-rehabilitation, Neuro-critical care and Neuropsychiatry. The NHNN receives secondary, tertiary and quaternary referrals from across the UK and internationally.

This role is concerned with supporting, evaluating and leading staff to provide a quality service which is efficient, stays within financial constraints and provides high levels of user satisfaction. The postholder will act with autonomy for day-to-day management of the administration staff within their remit and will lead and mentor non-clinical staff to ensure an excellent level of customer service.

The service manager will be an excellent communicator and have good organisational skills. They will oversee the day to day running of their services, managing demand and capacity, overseeing RTT and support with service developments and improvements.

The post-holder will have the opportunity to contribute to more senior level projects with the support of the Queen Square Divisional Management team.

The Procurement & Supply Chain directorate currently have a vacancy for a Band 4 experienced supply chain officer working with a supply chain service recovery and resilience programme in UCH/EGA. These roles require previous supply chain management experience in an NHS environment and also previous substantial project delivery experience.

The programme is a major transformation of product management including store rooms and supply chain services within the building. Applicants must have a sound knowledge of supply chain/logistics practice and some management/leadership experience in the NHS or a similar large complex organisation. A new and exciting opportunity has arisen within the Private Healthcare service to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated, and committed Service Manager. This role will provide operational support and responsibility to a variety of clinical services across UCLH.
