Sheet metal Quality Inspector
Location: Cirencester
Shift : Day shift
Salary: £28 to £32k per annum

An new opportunity has arisen with my client. They are a successful and innovative Manufacturing company that are offering a great opportunity for experienced Fabrication Inspectors to apply for. They require a Sheet Metal Quality Inspector to join their growing team.
Job Description:
• DXF checking (inspection and approval of 2D blank developments)
• First off inspection (including punched and laser operations, forming, inserting, welding etc)
• Inspection of subcontract processes
• Patrol inspection, final Inspection and batch sign off
• Verification of customer returns including control of the quality database and customer liaison.
• First Article Inspection Reports
• Experience managing quality systems
• Experience with customer audits
• understanding of health and safety requirements
• Customer support on quality issues
Desirable skills and experience:
• Person can provide an authoritative first off approval service to production, based on first principles inspection, i.e. checking to drawing and route cards and based on a level of product knowledge, fit and function etc.
• Person can guidance to operator in respect of adjustments to process to achieve the necessary part quality.
• Person operates to the existing inspection procedures, and can contribute to their development where necessary, i.e. first off process for punch, form etc.
• Person can efficiently and accurately check blank development files against part drawings, to validate dxf files.
• Person can identify regular failings in programming to provide feedback to programmers for improvement.
• Person can work with agreed blank development guidelines, but also able to use experience to go outside guidelines if necessary.
• Person is competent to complete final inspection of parts, sign off using SFDC.
• Person can create First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) for new parts where required
• The person can process internal and external rejects on the quality database.
• The person pro-actively records internal rejects, in order to create good quality data for continuous improvement activities.
• The person can define and implement effective corrective and preventative actions, based on robust design or process changes, and is able to effect the necessary changes within the factory.
· Has experience working in sheet metal subcontract business.
· Must be fully conversant with sheet metal processes.
· Strong problem-solving skills.
· Thorough with good attention to detail
· Must be well presented and technically competent when liaising with customers
· Good communicator
