The Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS) cluster at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position specialising in the philosophy of science and technology. Appointments will be made on an initial three-year contract with the possibility of renewal.

We are particularly interested in applicants who can play an instrumental role in addressing questions relating to ethics in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies—both through teaching students who are pursuing engineering, computer science, and architecture majors and through interdisciplinary research collaborations with engineering, design, and computer science faculty. Project Description

The project is to investigate the design possibilities of a compact, efficient, and wideband antenna/radiator suitable for wireless energy harvesting (WEH)/WPT. This exploration will span both conductive and magnetoelectric (ME) antennas. Our study will consider WIFI, power from base stations, and WPT as potential power sources.

Job Scopes:

• Literature review of the research domain
• Designs of small antennas/radiators for WEH/WPT using commercial EM software

We are seeking a highly motivated research assistant with a strong mathematical background who is interested to explore new research directions in neuro-symbolic methods, specifically on the interplay between deep learning and symbolic reasoning. The successful candidate can expect to help with the implementation of algebraic machine reasoning frameworks and will work closely with other team members.

The goal of this project is to develop a general neuro-symbolic reasoning framework for solving various reasoning tasks. The symbolic reasoning part of this framework shall be based on algebraic machine reasoning, a new reasoning paradigm built upon commutative algebra and computational algebra. The non-symbolic part of the framework shall primarily be based on deep learning, and could include vision models, language models, and multi-modal models.
