• SSSC registration
• Valid PVG check
• Be able to work upon own initiative and within a team

Working in the role of Waste Recycling Assistant, you will be based at Loughborough Recycling and Household Waste Recycling Centre on a full time temporary contract assisting customers to dispose of waste materials whilst maximising site recycling rates.

Key duties will include:

• Assist and advise with the recycling and disposal of waste materials at all RHWS, offering to show or help customers rather than tell them the correct place to deposit their waste
• Ensure waste streams are not mixed, and are separated correctly
• Maintain and ensure clean loads of recyclates before sending to disposal point and that loads that leave the site are not contaminated
• Maintain RHWS services in accordance with Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental management systems and follow health and safety procedures and safe systems of work
• Maintain compliance with all legislative requirements including the site operating and environmental licenses
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment
• Check permits for vans and trailers, or for permitted waste
• Ensure maintenance schedules are adhered to
• Identify opportunities to improve customer service and recycling rates
• Communicate with customers, responding to queries or complaints. Build effective relationships through customer contact and consistency of approach in all customer communications

Requirements for this role:
Be flexible to work outside of normal working hours including bank holidays, weekends and out of hours working.

Attend training courses, meetings and conferences

As a Transport Adviser Unit - SGLD Lawyer, you will be responsible for providing legal advice on a range of Transport Scotland operations and activities. Working on a Hybrid basis of 1 day a week in the Glasgow based office.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice
• Advise on major road infrastructure projects.
• Road maintenance and management queries, compulsory purchase and land assembly projects, and road traffic regulation

Requirements

Service Care Solutions have an exciting opportunity for a Waste Management Operative to join a local authority in Loughborough on temporary, ongoing contract.

The right candidate will operate the loading shovel and other plant equipment at waste sites in the Loughborough areas.

Duties will include:

• Operate the loading shovel and plant machinery to manage bulk waste.
• Operate other equipment as required to sort, clean, compact or shred all types of waste on site as required.
• Load outgoing vehicles either in bulk or bales as required to driver/offtaker specification and accurately document.
• Ensure all paper based and electronic records are accurate and current.
• Receive all deliveries, check electronic/paper based records to ensure compliance and communicate effectively with drivers/contractors to operate safely on site.
• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
• Work in accordance with health and safety, quality and environmental management systems and follow health and safety procedures and safe systems of work.

Requirements:

• Full, valid driving license.
• Loading shovel/plant ticket qualification.
• Experience in the waste management industry or similar workplace.
• Applying health & safety requirements to work tasks by following Safe Systems of Work and Risk assessments.
• Knowledge of driver and vehicle practices.
• Good organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Basic IT skills including the ability to use basic functions in electronic systems/willing to work towards.

The working hours will be:
5 days out of 7 (Between Monday and Sunday)
8.5hrs/ a day with 30min unpaid break.
