An opportunity has arisen at Salford Royal Hospital for the appointment of a Locum Consultant Upper GI Surgeon. The successful candidate will join an established team 11 Upper GI / Bariatric Surgeons.

It is proposed that the appointees will provide 10 PAs per week (which will include outpatient clinics, operating theatre lists, and administration). The job plan will be a flexible job plan.

The main role of the post is to work with adult patients with Inherited Metabolic Diseases (IMDs). The Endoscopy Unit performs a variety of standard and advanced Endoscopic procedures for both out-patients and in-patients including; gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, percutaneous endoscopic gastroscopy (PEG) insertion, oesophageal stenting and ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography). Other specialist work is also undertaken by individual consultants.

Reporting to the Endoscopy Unit Manager you will be responsible for the decontamination of endoscopes, assisting endoscopists in the procedure room, be the patients named nurse acting as their advocate ensuring privacy and dignity throughout the endoscopy journey.

You will be able to demonstrate good leadership skills, be adaptable to a changing environment and possess good written and verbal communication skills. Although experience would be desirable, full training will be given as this is a developmental post which will cover all areas of Endoscopy. Your training needs will be supported by our highly experienced Practice Development Nurse.

Endoscopy experience is highly desirable but not essential.

This position is full time within the Practice Trainer role.

The post holder will be expected to deliver education and supervision in practice as well as facilitating formal education and training sessions. There will be a significant focus on quality improvement involvement and service development for the Emergency Department.

You will act as a resource for clinical expertise and maintain clinical skills by undertaking regular 1:1 clinical practice supporting members of the team. You will provide professional, leadership and support and maintain full competence through regular practice.

You will contribute to the quality improvement agenda by contributing to the development of staff groups, undertaking audit and supporting service development.

The Business Architect will work as a thought-leader within the NCA's Digital Enterprise Architecture Centre of Excellence, ensuring alignment of modern business capabilities and processes to measurably beneficial solutions within the NCA's Digital Strategy and Vision. The Business Architect will assume a leadership role in two ways. Social Work England registration is required.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Acute Research Delivery Team (ARDT) as a Research Nurse at Salford Care Organisation.

You will be delivering clinical trials across the Trauma and Emergency Care and Critical Care Portfolio's and therefore evidence of proven experience within one of these areas is desirable.

The ARDT works a 5 day extended hours service. This post is for three years, on a fixed term position for one qualified nurse.

It is desirable to have prior experience in clinical research setting, but it is not essential.
