Formed in 2015, Reed Wellbeing has expanded rapidly, developing, and delivering evidence-based lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that help people improve their health. Guided by psychologists, dietitians, physical activity experts and other specialists our local teams support people to make sustainable, positive behavioural changes using engaging and interactive interventions that address individuals’ needs.
We deliver our services in the heart of communities, working with local public, private and voluntary partners. We currently provide a range of adult health and wellbeing services in over 20 local authorities. Services include diabetes prevention, weight management, physical activity (including GP referral), smoking cessation, intensive personal support, healthy eating and drinking, health checks and other healthy lifestyle promotion, outreach, support and training services – either directly or through trusted partners.
This role will require you to travel across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent
What the job is about:
Health & Wellbeing Lead Coaches are critical to the successful co-ordination of Reed Wellbeing's world class, evidence-based health and wellbeing behaviour lifestyle interventions. They will work closely with the Health & Wellbeing Manager and are responsible for ensuring the smooth running of Reed Wellbeing's health programmes across a specified region to agreed quality standards by co-ordinating the deployment of Health & Wellbeing Coaches to various venues and programmes.
Your main responsibilities would be:
- Co-ordinating Health and Wellbeing Coaches, ensuring they are supported and are up-to-date on relevant training
- Co-ordinating Venues taking into consideration the amount of participant referrals, viability of the venue and possible price negotiations
- Delivering group sessions in accordance to our curriculum, resources and quality standards, empowering our participants to achieve sustained behavioural improvements in their lifestyle and health
- Database and spreadsheet management
- Measuring, monitoring and reporting on participants’ progress and programme performance on your programme.

Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 A*-C grade GCSE’s. Including English and Maths.
- REPs Level 3 Exercise Referral qualification or equivalent; or
- Level 3 qualification in health improvement or promotion or public health or equivalent (eg. City & Guilds Level 3 Health Trainer or equivalent); or
- Level 3 qualification in nutrition; or
- Level 3 Training qualification (eg. PTTLs/Award in Education & Training)
- Experience of administrating and/or co-ordinating a number of events and/or programmes at any one time.
- Experience of working with or facilitating diverse participant groups.
- Experience of/interest in working with groups to achieve behavioural or lifestyle changes
- Willingness to undertake evening and weekend work as required.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel in order to deliver programmes across designated region.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated capability to work with MS Office packages and basic databases.
- Experience in using coaching skills to help individuals to improve their health and/or physical fitness.
- Fluency in community languages. Community languages may include: Cantonese, Mandarin, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Somali, Vietnamese, Dari, Yoruba, Turkish, French, Spanish, Albanian, Arabic, Bengali, Farsi, Guajarati, Polish, Serbian and Greek (dependent on location of service delivery
