Graduate Field Service Engineer
We are seeking enthusiastic recent graduates for the role of Field Service Engineer. This exciting position offers the opportunity to provide technical support and expertise in the dynamic healthcare sector, focusing on cutting-edge medical devices and technologies. Key responsibilities include:
Salary: £31,000 base salary, £5800 car allowance, up to £9300 (10%) annual bonus (performance based)
Contract type: 12 months rolling with the aim of going permanent
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm
Key Accountabilities:
- Technical Expertise: Stay informed about the latest developments in therapies and technologies relevant to your division, as well as understanding the broader healthcare market.
- Support and Assistance: Offer technical support and assistance to sales teams, physicians, and healthcare professionals across the country.
- Incident Monitoring: Assist in monitoring and reporting product incidents, supporting product marketing and managers.
- Product Development: Provide support for product development programs when required.
- Competitor Analysis: Analyze competitor products to provide insights and maintain the marketing database.
- Market Penetration: Promote product lines, help establish new accounts, and provide technical support to sales and customers.
- Exhibition Participation: Present products and handle technical questions at exhibitions.
- Product Training: Train users on the application of new products within the division.

Knowledge of the Healthcare Market:
- Market Awareness: Keep up-to-date with healthcare market trends to ensure compliance with clinical, quality, regulatory, and legislative requirements.
- Promotional Activities: Conduct effective promotional activities.
Support for Procedures and Follow-up:
- Technical Support: Provide primary technical support during medical procedures involving the products.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to clinical practices and standards in healthcare establishments.
Self-Management and Development:
- Ethical Operations: Operate ethically, focusing on clinical objectives and protecting company resources.
- Feedback and Coaching: Encourage and respond positively to feedback for continuous improvement.
Communication Skills:
- Effective Communication: Develop strong written and oral communication skills to explain technical issues clearly.
- Assertiveness: Display assertiveness and emotional control to interact effectively with medical professionals.
Compliance and Quality:
- Standards Adherence: Comply with technical and clinical standards, quality regulations, and legal requirements.
- Incident Reporting: Support the reporting of adverse events affecting products.
Education & Competencies:
- Degree: A B.S. degree in Engineering or related Sciences, with a focus on medical devices, is preferred.
- Experience: Experience in electrophysiology or cardiac rhythm management is ideal.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Travel: Willingness to travel at least 70% of the time.
- Clinical Knowledge: Familiarity with cath lab and operating room procedures and protocols, as well as strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
- Technical Skills: Experience with programmable medical devices and software-based medical systems.
- Sales Knowledge: Understanding of the sales process for capital equipment in hospitals.
- Clinical Studies: Experience in managing and supporting post-market approval clinical studies.
- PC Skills: Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Email.
- Team Player: Excellent interpersonal skills, team spirit, good presentation and training skills, and results-oriented.
