The scope of the Strategic Investments and Business Development function at Olam Agri covers M&A, greenfield investments, divestments, joint ventures, and strategic initiatives. As a key member of the SIBD team, the Manager will play a critical role in supporting the growth strategy of Olam Agri. S/he will be involved across the full deal lifecycle, from deal origination and analysis to execution and post-deal integration. This includes managing multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating with multiple internal and external stakeholders, and driving each project stage to a successful completion. Role is based in Olam Agri HQ in Singapore and covers global portfolio of organic and inorganic projects including support for potential IPO. This role would report to the Head of M&A and Strategic Investments and works closely with senior leadership.

M&A and organic investments:

· Support the execution of investment/divestment projects: business case development, valuation and financial modelling, due-diligence, structuring, documentation review and project management

· Coordinate cross-functional mullti workstream due diligence teams to evaluate financial, tax, legal, and other aspects of potential acquisitions. Identify risks and opportunities, and propose strategies to mitigate risks

· Review comprehensive organic investment proposals, prepare presentations and recommendations for approval, navigate the internal approval process.

· Monitor performance of organic & inorganic investments and prepare management reports to facilitate reviews at Investment Committee and Board level

Strategic Projects

· Support cross-functional strategic projects: market analyses, peer reviews, assessment of business opportunity potential, business strategic reviews, etc.

· Provide insight into the group’s/BU strategy by performing ad-hoc analyses

· Help business units in evaluating long term strategic options and value creation initiatives

Market Intelligence

· Maintain a continual awareness of the industry, emerging trends and opportunities including but not limited to competition, changes in customer preference and advancement in technology

· Gather and leverage market and competitive intelligence to produce meaningful analysis and actionable insights, which to communicate to management in a cohesive manner

· Interact and assess market data providers, internal and external

Education & experience:

· Degree in Business management and/or Finance or MBA/ CFA

· Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in investment analysis and projects management, in-house or with a top tier advisory firm

· Experience in agricultural commodities or B2B food industry is a plus

Due to growth of Olam Global Agri Food & Feed business in Singapore, we are looking for a Senior Trade execution specialist for our Edible Oil and Grain execution teams. They will be responsible to execute tankers, container and vessels and ensure flawless execution of the contracts.

Responsibilities:

• Independent execution of physical shipments including vessel monitoring, issuing letters of credit, vessel nomination, shipping advice, insurance declaration, discharge/load port agent appointment, load/discharge operations.
• Manage trade finance activities; to issue import letters of credit to suppliers and ensure fully operative import letters of credit are in place for prompt receipt of payments.
• Identify opportunities to optimize positions – maximizing/minimizing cargo lifts, changing laycans/load dates, rolling hedges as appropriate.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties such as customers, suppliers, surveyors and other business partners.
• Prepare and review import and export documents for smooth customs clearance.
• Ensure accuracy of trade capture and review contractual terms.
• Attend to accounting, audit, and compliance-related enquiries.
• Recognize (potential) issues and risks and report them.
• Resolve shipment issues independently while escalating more complex issues to Team Lead and/or Execution Manager

Requirements:

• Degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related discipline
• At least 5 years of relevant experience with a large commodity trading company, executing Edible & Soft Oils, Grains, Oilseeds and/or any other bulk commodities.

This role play a critical role in supporting the growth strategy of Olam Agri. 1. M&A deal management:

• Project management: Manage various workstreams through the deal cycle:

o Structure the workflows in a deal cycle and prepare a project plan, track and review progress with stakeholders, drive to completion

o Support end to end deal execution, from origination till closing and integration stage

o Manage internal and external project teams, including business and functional teams (Legal, Finance, IT, HR, etc), and advisors

o Understand Due Diligence scoping, risks and mitigation. Analyse and provide pertinent feedback to duel diligence reports

• Stakeholder management:

o Collate timely and quality input and decision-making from various internal stakeholders

2. Strategic Investments Review and Approval:

• Develop or review comprehensive organic investment proposals, prepare presentations and recommendations for approval, manage the internal approval process

3. Strategic Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence

As the Bunker Trader for our global dry bulk fleet, you will function as an internal market maker for all bunker risk associated with our fleet and forward freight commitments. Role would include managing the exposure through the execution of physical and financial contracts, reconciling mark to market forward positions with Risk Control Team. The role is global and managing relationship with external stakeholder. Ideal candidate will have fueloil derivative experience, a technical understanding energy macroeconomic drivers and keen interest in the 24/7 aspect of international commodity and shipping markets.

Responsibilities:

Bunker Procurement:

· Manage and negotiate the procurement of bunkers, spot and term, dealing directly with selected panel of suppliers and traders.

· Intraday management of daily bunker exposure through derivative exaction, both OTC through brokers and on-screen transactions.

· Develop and maintain relationships with oil majors, traders, and derivative brokers.

· Evaluate future vessel itineraries and update internal stakeholders with regional fuel availability.

· Coordinate schedule with Vessel Operators

Risk Management:

Analysis & Reporting:

· Gather market information and report product availability and market trends.

· Improve visibility of the marine fuels market new to the Chartering and Operations team.

· Work with the Finance Team & Risk Control Teams on credit exposure, transfer pricings, and working capital management.

Qualifications:
