Job Summary Provide high level proactive and innovative strategic leadership and management of the whole organisation with an emphasis on high standards of patient care, efficient and effective use of resources, business growth and impact. Use evidence-based approaches to develop and implement the companys commercial strategies whilst addressing our key business challenges. Create, execute and monitor the performance of comprehensive business plans. Oversee the financial stability of the company. Create and maintain a positive and equitable company culture across clinical and professional support teams and oversee recruitment, retention, engagement and professional development activities. Ensure the company is a vibrant social enterprise with an innovative approach. Establish and maintain excellent long-lasting relationships and a rich reputation with patients, shareholders, commissioners, regulators, partners and other key stakeholders. The Chief Executive Officer is the accountable-officer responsible for ensuring the social enterprise meets its statutory and service obligations and works effectively with its key stakeholders. The Chief Executive Officer will play a key role in taking forward a shared vision of the vision, mission, values and culture of the organisation. Key accountabilities: Governance and Compliance: Ensure that the governance of the company is sound and embodies the values of the social enterprise including leading and managing shareholder relations, working with the Employee-Shareholders Chair to ensure successful operation of the Shareholder Impact Board of elected and standing representatives Take responsibility for ensuring the company complies with its obligations under relevant regulatory frameworks and meets reporting requirements Act as the companys SIRO (Senior Information Risk Owner) and be responsible for managing information risks, ensure that effective mechanisms are in place to manage data and information, implement systems safely and monitor organisational learning within the organisation and from other organisations Ensure that sound financial management and corporate governance systems and processes are in place to enable the company to meet its objectives and legal requirements Create annual plans that support strategic direction correlating with operating budgets Organisational Development: Develop the business as a successful, sustainable and profitable company, first and foremost by ensuring that existing contracts are delivered to high standards of quality and excellence; and also by seeking, developing and sustaining new sources of income Build and maintain a strong brand and reputation for the organisation both internally and externally Create and lead opportunities to enhance the external profile of the organisation and its services whilst building and maintaining workforce engagement and pride in Smile Together Operational Leadership: Ensure that the day-to-day operations of the organisation are effectively and efficiently co-ordinated and implemented and conducted within the framework agreed to by the Smile Together Board and according to agreed business strategies Ensure the development and implementation of integrated strategies across clinical, operations, finance, marketing and communications, human resources and workforce, information management and technology, estates and performance monitoring, management and reporting Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain positive collaborative partnership arrangements with commissioners, local authorities, local communities, MPs, the voluntary sector, universities, communities and other key partners and stakeholders Play a valuable and prominent part in contributing to the success of our organisation Be an ambassador for the companys vision, mission and values and demonstrate related behaviours Professionally represent Smile Together as a high-profile ambassador for the company in this role, leading by example Leadership of People: Create and lead an environment that promotes great performance, engagement and positive morale across clinical and professional support teams Provide vision and dynamic motivational leadership to our people and partners, enabling the company to achieve its strategic goals and objectives in support of its values as a social enterprise Lead and manage the Director of Operations and Commercial, Clinical Director of Governance, Clinical Director for Workforce Development and the Finance Manager, ensuring their professional performance and development needs are addressed and that the culture of a learning, innovative organisation delivering high quality services permeates throughout the organisation Establish appropriate remuneration levels and performance-based conditions for colleagues within the framework agreed to by the Smile Together Board
